Western Bulldogs V Port Adelaide R8, Saturday 3/5/25 at Mars Stadium, Ballarat at 1:20pm
Still think Kennedy pick up was amazing value for US. He's what we've been missing. Real grunt player who gets his hands dirty and throws his body at it.
Top 6 player in the competition over the first part of the season IIRC (champion data) - hits the scoreboard too
We have been all calling for more from Naughty and English and they have progressed nicely over the last few weeks but today they took our football side to another level.
I mention them each game but Harmes and Kennedy have made a massive difference without ball in hand in a group that had been very ball hungry in the past. Its infectious, the frontal pressure all around the ground today was excellent, we finally have players wanting to play a role and it’s definitely helping with consistency of effort across the season so far.
I’ve been a critic of English because I’m a big believer in rucks being strong in the air when they are behind the ball, he hasn’t been recently but yesterday was an enormous step forward.
Im stoked with his last month and enjoyed him playing with a bit of needle towards Cornes and Sweet today. More please Tim, brilliant performance.
How do woofers feel about the small ball lineup yesterday?
With Darcy and Jones out and also having Buss as the sub thats the smallest team we have put out in a while. With Harmes and Davidson being effective on the wings it has given us the ability to play Williams back and play an extra runner, I'm guessing it might be horses for courses but its always interesting what you discover when injury and form present themselves.
Lobb ran more KM yesterday than any other Bulldog (14.6km). The big man has got a tank and is working his backside off. What a storyline for him across the last ~15 games. A true hero's journey.
I can't recall another player turning around his reuptuation and position in the football world as quickly as Lobb. Incredible really. Kudos to him and the coaches.

Lobbs performance in the first ten minutes and first quarter in general kept us in the game. I so wanted to give him one vote based on the first quarter alone.
