I don't believe that to be true. My understanding is that the AFL steadfastly knocked back our request for that final to be played at Marvel as they believed that it would limit the crowd to 50k. I think the final crowd at the G was around 65k. I also believe that we were a better chance to win had that game be played under the roof.

Now that it looks that there will be no games played at Ballarat in 2026 I'm interested in everyone's thoughts on what we do with those two games next season. Do we simply play them at Marvel or do we hit the AFL with a request to play one or maybe both as home games at the MCG against the so called bigger clubs and make some good coin by drawing a big crowd similar to the centenary game against the filth earlier this year? I personally think one at Marvel and maybe play the drug cheats as a grudge match in front of a big crowd at the G is the right mix. Thoughts.

I'd be looking at the bigger picture and putting the hand up for an MCG game.
