It doesn't happen often but I'm going to tip against us this week so Geelong by 14 points.
I'm not one to come on here and say I'm picking the Dogs by a decent margin and then actually pick against them with my footy tips.

That is interesting. Why do you think we can't get the job done this week G?

I'm not really sure, we are playing well but I Geelong has a seasoned side who know how to play against us.
I;m just now as confident this week as I have been all season.

Let's not forget here. We've done nothing wrong to incur any needling. If anything, the narrative should be how horrible a system is that a marquee player like Smith was able to effectively be nursed to an out of contract state to effectively hold us over a barrel negotiation wise to ensure he gets to a particular club.

No it's not good for the game.

Wwhen queried by Gerard with an almost with a 'what great theatre it is with Bailey Smith' I would've loved Bevo say 'Look he's an A grade player.. and the fact is we provided Baily with nothing but love and all the support we could, and our fans adored him too as one our ours. The situation is, he's not one of ours. He chose to leave that, and that's how the system is set up right now, to facilitate that, that's all fine. We've got a very strong and close group here. So from our perspective, he is simply just another player from another club, now and we just simply have zero time to buy into any of the noise or hype. All we're invested in about Bailey is the extent we recognise he's a a key opposition players and how can we manage his output as part of a strategy to beat Geelong? That's it. The rest is just for the fans and maybe Bailey's social media likes?'
This is perfect, I wish it had happened. I’m feeling really toey that our guys will be distracted and get somehow sucked in. I don’t want to see any theatrics or crap or mouthing off from us and I hope our guys are being told to give a complete non reaction if he tries to provoke, which he inevitably will. The best way to respond to the BS idiocy is for us to win. A shocker from him would also be appreciated

it does feel unfair that it is somehow cast as a grudge match when we have done nothing to gibe at him. He with his “outgrowing the place” and Ballarat comments has been the one. I really want this match to be over and feel very jittery at how it will play at at that dump, with the supporter base stirred up and the usual home town fever pitch affecting the umpiring.

If I had one, I'd be taking one of those Ballarat beanies to the game tomorrow. Wish I'd had the idea earlier than yesterday morning because it's a bit late to get one now...

I am not surprised that others have vague doubts about this game, despite our form and winning last time.
It's still an hour bus trip west to our old foe.
My thinking side thinks it will be a defensive, negating game, with not much space to create play and we're up for it. We'll grind or fast hand our way to a win.
I'd like to think we are on track with our system, especially the middle and external matters are rub of the green, another Smith.... irrelevant to our job, talking heads can talk. His character is dubious, not a concern.
We could stumble with a bad start and the crowd singing but that is pure anxiety.

I've been tipping against us most weeks and it seems to be working. I'm rightfully worried about Geelong, especially at Sausage Park, and I reckon they'll be primed for this one so it's going to be a massive test.

We're definitely moving in the right direction as a club and if we win this with them up and about we'll have that elusive scalp and I'll be a believer.

Lobb may have to go forward with Henry and Stewart back. It has to be the GWS match re. how we enter F50 MkII. They'll force us long at every opportunity.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I expect us to win tonight.

We have a far superior midfield and if we don't defend too high and allow their HF's free roam on the counter, I feel we will have a comfortable win.

It's a huge test to how disciplined we are... and I'm confident we will fare well.

Agree with YHF mostly, I don't like the way it's getting framed at all. Somehow its all shifted towards poor Bailey, we didn't do the right thing by him and now he is free and excelling. If anything, the Club did absolutely right by the player, to our own detriment. But that's all noise and fluff now, just have to win and keep winning.
