We play North in a few weeks in that timeslot but not our home game. I wonder whether that will get a bigger crowd than tonight. Might depend on how North go before they play us."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"👍 1Comment

OK I'm away and didn't watch. We smashed them. Yet on here people seem disappointed. Why?
I completely understand beating a team like the saints means nothing and all that as we've failed to take it to the top teams. But we won by 12 goals. Surely it's still a good thing?😂 1Comment

Didn't feel the Saints wanted to win, rather, just not lose by too much too early so it dragged on us a little.
Twelve goals is still twelve goals though, so most would be happy enough.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.😀 1👍 1Comment

It was a bit of a frustrating game, where some of our less appealing habits popped up at different times until early into the third. A bit of indecisiveness here, silly skill error there etc. from some of the same culprits. Some carry over bitterness from last week probably permeated how many viewed the game.

I cant believe its gotten to this but i kinda feel bad for them. Especially if Milera leaves. But then I see Riewoldts face and my smile returns.😂 1👍 1Comment

Anyone else find it amusing in Lyon's presser how he focused on where they are at in there rebuild, eluding to their lack of experience.

Great to beat teams by 70 plus, 90 plus shows we don't stop playing and let easy goals erode our lead. This was prevailant in the past where we had leads of 60 plus and finished the game winning by 20 odd - so good signs this year.FFC: Established 1883

Pretty convincing win, hard to take much away as we know we will dominate these sides but until we beat good sides there will be question marks and that’s fair enough. In regards to the flat track bully tag I’m really not that worried, I think our record looks a lot worse than it’s actually been in reality - we’ve probably played 1 bad game when we were jumped off the bye by a team who needed to win even more than us.
Then there’s been some poor quarters which have let us down, and an inability to finish the game when we’ve had some chances but I don’t think it’s fair to call us flat track bullies based on that just yet. We’ve played one, single, game against those sides at our home ground, for the first time all year we had our two best players in the same team (outside of 10mins against the Saints first time around)
If we had Bont for Freo, Pies, Lions and Darcy for Gold Coast, Geelong how many of those games do we win? I honestly think at least 3. These two completely, dramatically, change our team for the better and you can say well you can’t rely on a single player but we have managed well but NO team is covering their best 2 players and 2 of the best players in the whole competition against good sides.
At the same time that we’ve been covering for those two missing all year we’ve also missed a lot of other good players. Treloar, Cody & Marra are massive losses on their own, throw it on top of your two best players and it’s a wonder we’ve even been competitive. Backline hasn’t been settled all year etc
i just think many fans expectations have been completely out of whack to expect us to work miracles with what we’ve had, the losses against good sides are disappointing and realistically I don’t think we’ll finish top 4 now because it’s a pretty tough year for top 4 with a number of good clubs almost already locked in, and a few with super easy draws. So that’s frustrating when I think we’re good enough to, but we just haven’t had luck on our side this year unfortunately and maybe squandered a couple of opportunities of our own doing too.
We’re a much better side than last year though, with an extremely bright future and we’re good enough to win it all so long as we make finals, which we will. Whilst I don’t think we’ll finish top 4 the year is absolutely still there for the taking and we’re a different side and will give it a real shake I’m sure of it, the results against the top sides will start to turn in our favour👍 3Comment
