For the balance of the backline Bramble belongs in the current side. When JJ is back or Sellwood is deemed ready that's another argument.
Look forward to seeing Bramble play on Papley. No point having a person who can run that cannot kick the ball 15 metres to a target. The goals he has cost us on skill errors make Cleary a better option regardless of his running capacity. Cleary stuffed up against Geelong but not like turnovers Bramble delivers.

If you did that to everyone, there would be a few out before Bramble. Cleary was one of them. He was lucky to be in the team last week and was nothing special vs the saints so why he got dropped first. They play different roles anyway.

Cleary would be worse on Papley. I'd prefer they stuff taking a risk then stuff up and freeze like Cleary does.

Cleary needs some time in the twos for sure. And I think we'd be a better side if we could replace the 2025 Bramble with someone a bit cleaner (2024 Bramble?). His disposal this year has let him and us down at times.

Agree jazzadogs , Coffield in the last few weeks in the VFL has moved as freely as iv seen since he came to us , and i dont think Cleary has much more pace then Coffield right now .
During a game when the ball is kicked into our back line id much rather see Coffield shoulder to shoulder with an opponent the Cleary .
Cleary needs our side to be right on top for him to play a reasonable game , if we are struggling if we are getting beaten he goes missing , i have much more confidence in Coffield when the going gets tough then i have in Cleary .

Surprised Harmes not in - named in VFL (and emergency) and the two first year players Dolan and Hynes are in.

JJ is in the VFL as well

                    Good news about Dale.

I do believe that if Coffield's body cooperates that he will be a valuble player for us. He just needs to string together some games and stay injury free.

He has played only 17 games since the conculsion of the 2021 season. 17 out of a possible 82 games.

I’m kinda happy Dolan & Hynes stay in. Hoping both have breakout games to build their confidence.

Happy to see Hynes get a full game (if that's the plan), but disappointed no Harmes. I think he's been really solid this year and deserved his spot back after missing due to concussion.

Saw these stats on the AFL app. Would have been very surprised if Dolan was dropped. He must have really built up his tank since the early days

Bevo is fond of work rate like this. It is how Vandermeer gained a footing and it has served him well.

Me too. And I have a sneaky suspicion that both might do well on Sunday. Particularly Dolan. I thought he trained really well on Thursday, working at full pace and consistently hitting targets.

Though not the standout Dolan was, Hynes also trained well and continues to surprise me. Early days, I thought he would be a bit of a bull for us but he is actually quite silky. Pendlebury would have been proud of some of his gives.

I can’t see Hynes being sub for the second week in a row. Think it might McNeil’s turn.

Disappointed no Harmes I think he deserves to be straight into the 22 but also happy to see Hynes & Dolan have full games hopefully, we definitely won’t make Hynes sub again but I’ll be pretty upset if Mcneils not sub (and Dolan is) - McNeil deserves to be dropped after his last few weeks, would have brought Harmes in for him but at least needs to be sub.

Cleary & McNeil out/demoted would be the right call, he’s had a decent year Lachie but needs to tidy up has zero confidence right now in his ball movement and can’t afford to carry him in this form against good teams. Others deserve his spot
