He was interviewed in the change rooms after the game and said he was fine. Certainly looked nasty.

100% - if he is not cooked, i think we've gotta roll the dice. I'm hoping we've been priming him for one last ride to close out the year. Can unlock Lobb or JOD to play more of an intercepting role. Davidson and Harmes coming in also will lift our bottom six up. Scope for improvement for sure.

He kept signaling to the bench that he wanted to come off as well. The extra break might help.

Nah that can be jabbed and he won’t get any weeks for that as most players will put the arm out to fend off and not expect a tackler to be that low.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

                  Adel fwds are
                  walker
                  fogarty
                  thilthorpe
                  rankine
                  keys
                  rachelle

that’s a pretty good fwd line. Anyone of those has the potential to kick 5.

if we go in with just Lobb and JOD as key backs, the MC needs their heads read.

walker, Fogarty, thilthorpe (jones/buss, JOD, Lobb)
rankine, keys, rachelle (bramble, Williams, Coffield)

                  geez both these worry me

we need a run with defender for Keys and I think Williams can do the job.
if Dureya is anywhere near Rankine, I’ll spew.

will be interesting to see how we line up.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Add in ANB. Won’t kick 5 but is a brilliant link up player. His most underrated player in the comp material.

I think we will persist with Coffield. Bevo went out of his way to talk about Coffield third quarter in the presser.

Feel his getting up to speed with the game and building confidence in his body given his played very little footy. His kicking has been an issue at afl level, but it was brilliant at training when I was going frequently earlier in the year (and he was actually on the track).

                        In: Davidson, Harmes, Dolan
                        Out: Poulter, Doc, McNeil

Want another taller defender in but not sure anyone is ready.

I’d go this for the big game

                          In; L.Jones, Davidson, Harmes, Khamis
                          Out; Poulter, Coffield, Duryea, McNeil

                          Williams JOD L.Jones
                          Dale Lobb Bramble
                          Davidson Richards Freijah
                          Kennedy Naughts Harmes
                          West Darcy VDM

                          English Bont Libba

                          JJ Garcia Sanders Hynes
                          S- Khamis

E- Scott Dolan Sellwood (wouldn’t disappoint to see these guys)

I am tempted to bring in Liam Jones - see how he goes today - if so drop McNeil.
I will stick with above changes and also bring in Jones for McNeil.

After rewatching the game and also seeing bits and pieces of the VFL game...

                              Out: McNeil, Poulter, Duryea
                              In: Harmes, Davidson, Busslinger

I'm not a "PLAY BUSS AT ALL COSTS" guy but against a really tall forward line (Thilthorpe, Fogarty, Walker and now ANOTHER in Curtin), it's either Jones or Busslinger who needs to come in. While Jones is more experienced and more reliable, I don't know if he's played enough footy post-injury. Whereas Buss, who has only played the 2 games, has had an intense VFL apprenticeship and I think his game experience is actually underrated (3 seasons of VFL footy to develop is not nothing). So bring him in as the third tall OR play him deep like he did v Hogan for GWS and allow JOD and Lobb to be aggressive interceptors.

McNeil is clearly out, he didn't even come off the bench in the final quarter, so Harmes gets his spot back in the forward line. Poulter played okay and could get another shot but if Davidson is healthy, he plays. Duryea comes out of the D50 for whoever we pick as the extra tall and I am going with Buss.

(I'd love to see Sellwood play as I think his *only* weakness is his aggressiveness but I think that could come in handy v Adelaide. I just think he'll need one more game in the 2s to prove he is ready to the match committee.)

Busslinger and Sellwood both had good games in the VFL, they are both ready for selection over Duryea and Coffield imo.
                                Jedd Busslinger 103 24 disposals 8 marks 5 tackles
                                Michael Sellwood 120 28 disposals 7 marks 7 tackles
