    Complete the list challenge.

Ok - so it's clear to most of us other than kAnE cOrNeS that there are gaps in the list.

This is the challenge : what positions do we need to upgrade, and who, if you had the choice of anyone in the AFL would you choose to fill them?

i think our biggest issues are

    - Small forward - we have West really shoehorned into the role and McNeil. We need a specialist.
    - Wing/wings - Davidson has been good, I think he's starting to struggle. Since Hunter we haven't had a great winger.
    - KPD - Um. Well, the good ones are old. The others are young. We need help here big time.
    - Inside/Out mid - We have a great list of midfielders, but not a great midfield "team". We need pace, we are very one-paced in the middle.

    Who would I get?

    - Small forward - Switkowski or Cameron.
    - Wing - Curtin from the Crows, Mcluggage, younger player Caleb Windsor.
    - KPD - Harris Andrews, May. Both would allow intercept from others.
-Inside/Out - BUTTERS! Just do it.

I don't think it's purely trading, I think we try a mixture of drafting, trading and natural development of our kids.

Small forward - take our pick to draft, even consider an upgrade as nobody rates this draft, bring in Dovaston. Dolan will pay more next year too. Draft a small forward and not just a frustrated midfielder for a change. Pray Weightman gets his knee right.

Small defender - we've been linked to Budarick. Jaques & Sellwood developing should get games next year. This year, get Freijah rotating through there to get his hands on the ball again.

Wing - boost our defensive stocks to release Truck to a wing. He's good there. We play a rotation instead of 2 permanent wings anyway.

KPD - pray to god JOD/Buss improve next year. We could have a crack at Leek Aleer from GWS although he seems set to go elsewhere. We have Zac Walker as a developing kid, and Will Darcy will begin his journey next year too. Forget this "Croft to wing" nonsense and develop him behind the ball too. James Blanck is OOC in 2026 but likely to get squeezed out at the Hawks between Barrass/Battle so he's another trade option.

Utility option - Sam Butler. The kid can play, just needs a clean run from injuries. May be loyal to the Hawks though who stuck with him through his injury journey. OOC this year.

A dangerous small forward and a quality small defender would be my priorities.

Very good points. That small defender role is one I missed, it's definitely a gap.

Croft is an interesting one, I too want him to be developed as a defender.

I have to do a bit of homework. Surely there a couple of mids struggling to get a game but could adapt to a small defenders role.
I'd be looking at some of the smaller forwards on the GWS list.

Victor Wembanyama to form a lethal combination with Darcy.

                  Gout Gout on the wing.

I don't follow UFC but some big dude at full back to crush opposition KPFs.

Harley Barker who loomed as a later first round pick has done his ACL. Outside mid who can kick a goal, might be a longer term wing solution if he lslides to the second round and he gets decent rehab in.

Definitely small fwd…a GENUINE fwd. any types like Watson, Cameron, Pickett
a quick winger with elite kicking skills…could see a Bergman in this role
a small defender. Maybe a starcevich
I will never see #16 the same!!

Capable defenders of any description. Tall, small, fat, skinny, fast, slow. Just some damn defensive ability.

Have to get some quality users that can defend in the back half. Don’t care how big or small they are, we need multiple gaps filled.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

I feel sometimes when the ball hits the ground in our d50 we are in trouble.
