How about that, only 15km from Darley.

We over pay ordinary players and even reward loyalty that is over what a player is worth on the market. We need to pay good money for match winners not plodders. At one stage we were paying more for M Boyd and R Murphy as the club felt they got unders during the Johnson Smith Grant West era. Boyd and Murphy were getting close $1m and playing across half back. Decent players but not match winners.

Just to add to it , Darley are in the grandfinal this weekend and I would 99.9% sure he will be there , he loves the club as much as he loves the Bont.

Surely the AFL has to provide some clarity for the club regarding Jamarra before the official trade period starts?
It would help us identify our real needs in terms of positions and potentially provide us with an idea of how much money we have available in terms of the salary cap.

They've got about 2 weeks to get this sorted.

The posturing has started…. Can someone get me a vomit bag!

Top AFL agent makes big call on Ugle-Hagan's future

                  By SEN

A large question remark hangs over Jamarra Ugle-Hagan's head when it comes to the troubled Bulldogs' future, but leading AFL agent Paul Connors believes he can become another Jesse Hogan.

Ugle-Hagan has not played at all this season amid an ongoing battle with mental health issues which saw him enter rehab earlier this year.

The 23-year-old has found himself in hot water numerous times in 2025 with his future in the sport uncertain.

While his current deal extends to the end of 2026, there are no assurances for Ugle-Hagan with his future entirely in the hands of the Bulldogs.

It remains to be seen if he will play out his contract and, given the well documented off-field issues, there are no guarantees another club would be willing to take a risk on him.

Connors, whose management agency Connors Sports Management takes care of Ugle-Hagan, is convinced we will see the star come good.

“I hope so, it’ll be a great story, we love a redemption story,” he said on the 200 Plus Podcast. “We’re just barracking for it, I’ve got no breaking news other than it would be great to see him play footy next year.

“He looks fit, he’s got an appetite for training, he loves training (and) he trains hard.

“I think he can still play, so it’s just is someone going to give him an opportunity. You might have to go 10 steps back to go 20 forward but let’s see.

“I am nearly like you guys just watching and barracking, Robbie (D’Orazio) has done a great job (with him).

“The game is hard too … every story is different but Giants took a great leap of faith with Jesse Hogan and he turned out to be All-Australian.

“We love a redemption story – so that’s what I am barracking for.”

I get the player managers have to fly the flag for their players but that's nothing more than a commercial for Jamarra.

You have to wonder if this is just going to get very messy.

That line is blatantly untrue - the AFL will be involved in any decision, it's not solely up to the club. I imagine Jamarra himself will have a say as well.

It's nothing more than the agent hoping they can keep earning their nice fat commission in the future. Jamarra has not only pissed away his future but his agent's future cash cow as well.

I don't blame Connors at all - you've gotta fly the flag for your client, especially if he is a (self-inflicted) distressed asset.

I have no doubt that behind the scenes Connors and D’Orazio would have tried anything and everything to get JUH back on track.

Same here. It's their job to sell the vision but they're going to have to be more convincing when speak to us and some other clubs.
If not us then I would imagine some clubs might only consider him after having a look at him in the SSP window.

Perhaps we should be doing the same. 'Marra is an absolute gun, we are confident he has turned the corner and is ready for an ultimate break out season. We are only trading him because while he was having some very temporary problems Sam Darcy took his spot in the side. Sam is related to Luke so even though Jamarra is better we have to stick with Sam. So we have this once in a lifetime opportunity for you to get hold of a generational talent entering his prime. The auction starts at trading us the best full back in the comp and two firsts. You will never get a better deal than this. Get in first. Secure your clubs future success now!'

It already is very messy, but yes, it is going to get a whole lot worse.

Marra, for heaven's sake, stand up and make a decision about your future. It's all been about Marra, his needs and what he wants.
                                Time to act Marra.
