Lots of scenarios to play out next week. Brisbane and Collingwood fighting for a top 4 position, and Hawks alos have a chance for top 4.

Unfortunately we won't get a home final and could end up with either a Suns or GWS away game depending on the results in other games.

We could even end up at the Gabba if Lions and GC lose.

Firstly win today and a big finish next week.FFC: Established 1883

To throw some consideration out there for what would happen if all results go as expected. My tips this week have the Lions, Suns and Giants winning their respective games this week, which if we won our game would see us finish in 7th with a final in Sydney against the Giants, but here is where everything goes south. If the Hawks beat the Lions it's Hawks at the G (I'm already having flashbacks.) If Giants lose to the Saints it's Hawks at the G. If both happen it's Lions at the Gabba. Now what option do you want because I know I like that Sydney game the best.Last edited by Plums; 20-08-2025, 07:59 AM.👍 2Comment

I mentioned in a separate thread that I think who we would play (assuming we take care of business) depends on the suns. If they win both their games we'd play them or gws. If they lose one (likely only to port) then we'd play lions or hawks. So we really want the suns winning out.To throw some consideration out there for what would happen if all results go as expected. Of course that assumes other results go to plan. I actually think the saints could pip the giants after a little boost from the Milera signing. They played spoiler last year too in the final round.Comment

At Bevo's presser this morning he said that Freo and us are in the same boat, whoever wins is in, we don't we're out.
But, noodling around on the PREDICTOR there is a chance-however small that if we draw with Freo they are still in and we are definitely 9th.
Some unlikely upsets are involved but not impossible, last games of the season can yield crazy odds results.
One draw and one loss from GC they're out. One win they're in, 2 draws they're in. If we draw we're out with GC on 2 draws or one win we're out.
These are far fetched but I feel like I need to prep myself for mathematically viable yet bizarre scenarios.

So a draw v Freo is not good enough.
If the unthinkable happens again and Gold Coast lose both matches, plus St Kilda beat GWS and we draw with Freo we could be 8th and Freo 5th. If we win in that scenario we're 5th and Freo is 8th.
 I think I might need a cuppa.Comment

I am thinking Pies will win v Dee's. They have too much to lose.

 Adelaide to beat North.
 Port to beat Suns
 Cats to beat Tiges
 Saints to beat GWS
 Dogs to beat Freo
 Loins to beat Hawks
 Suns to beat Essendon
 So:
 Adelaide 72pts
 Cats 68pts
 Lions 66pts
 Pies 64 pts
 Dogs 60
 Suns 60
 Hawks 60
 GWS 60

Bit of wishful thinking on show but there haven't been many upsets in the last 3 weeks. I'm hoping the worm has turned.
