The challenge next week is to bring our best
Absolutely. I also feel that Croft will play the role that we are keen to see Buku play but maybe Croft is the better option.

It will be interesting at the selector’s table this week what they do with Adz. Too good a player not to bring in but given recent soft tissue injuries there would be some doubt. Harmes will be another interesting one if we make finals and he is fit, though more than likely will not play till next year (in seniors)

    1. Croft is lively and will be an integral part of the team. I like his mobility.
    2. I do get concerned about our lapses and letting teams control the game for short periods. We are good enough to score heavily against weaker teams. Does become an issue though against more fancied opponents
    3. our backline is looking more solid. Buss and Cleary coming along nicely. Work in progress and will be tested this week and finals (if we make it)

        3. Love seeing a debut like Croft - he has talent
In the past if we had won a few games by a healthy margin but then lost the week or weeks later, it would grind the team back to having a load of ugly wins aka "a wins a win" etc against sides we should beat, even lost a few, but this year we have absolutely spanked teams, lost to a top 8 side but then continue to bully the weak, to me that's the sign of a team really ready to explode, really good signs for the next 5 years or so.

Conceptually I get what you're saying, but Clay's biggest strength lay in how terrified the opposition were to be near him.

Geelong hold the record for most wins in a season over 70 points and that was in 1992 with 9. They made the GF that year

I went to a game of VFL here in Frankston, '15 or '16. Fotscray v Dolphins. At 3/4 time we were 4 or 5 goals down as I wandered to the centre to hear the address.
Clay Smith was circling the huddle, yelling come on boys we can win this.
              We won.

I think I was there. Big Will Minson played and from memory was pretty crucial. We came from the heavens to win it. What a game.
