I think Port can really use someone like Marra up forward to complement Georgiadis? I wonder if we could convince both parties and use Marra in the negotiation, along with a couple of the first rounders?

A dream scenario, not that hopeful of it happening that way unfortunately.

He's sure as hell put Darley on the map.

Google searches for the place have gone up 400% in the last 3 hours.

I have pretty decent weighting with google.

Yep that's it. If they match the two ways he can move is via a trade or via the draft.
He will be ooc though so value will diminish a tad.

Cadman is also from Darley. They've always had a strong team. Heath Scotland is another.

Sam Lalor the #1 pick is from Bacchus Marsh. (Same place)

There are only a handful of untouchable players on on our list. I know you don't want to go there but we're talking about being box seat for a top 5 player in the comp here.

Picks and money might not get it done.

How much do we want him?
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I agree with the principle but it's hard to throw players into trades now. Port will ask for someone like Freijah.

Anyone think two firsts and Bailey Williams would get it done?

Everyone needs a player like Bailey Williams who is equally good on a wing as he is in defence.
                        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Unlikely I would think. If they trade Butters they're essentially rebuilding, if you're rebuilding then you don't want a 28 year old.

Believe they have a few F/S picks over the next few years so it makes sense that they'd be looking at potentially 3 First Round Picks across 2026/2027.

You think Butters fixes our defensive midfield problems, and that hopefully helps our defense, not having the ball coming in so quickly.
If he is up for grabs, you move hell and high water to get him.

Still doesn't fix our number 1 KPD issue but looking at the market this year I don't think we have many options other than J. Butts.

I think the clubs pursuit of Wilkie was solid. It was a need. That has fallen through. I reckon we have brought forward our play for butters a year earlier potentially. This is absolutely the right play. The guy is a weapon and makes us a better team defensively just with his offense. (his defense is tidy aswell) Would i give this years first and next years first. Absolutely. Do we have 3 firsts to give? has that rule come in yet where you can trade the following years picks? would 2 firsts and a player get it done? i think if he puts heat on port for this year, it makes it easier. Because his currency only goes down next year. He's OOC and can walk to the draft cant he? same position we were in with Smith.?

                                100% correct.

Given Port have Salary-Cap room, they will match a bid on Butters, forcing a trade.

Also this benefits the Dog's Salary Cap, as he could take a little less in Salary to come over, as you know Port will match any bid. (I say this as you would imagine the Club would have made it clear no one gets paid more than Bont. Butters would know this and to get him on the equivalent as Bont would be as far as one should realistically pay).

If only JUH had currency, we would not need to talk about all these picks! Then again, getting rid of his salary allows the ability to pursue Butters now!
