A towering moment in our clubs history. Absolutely clunked it.

One of my favourite Bulldogs of all time. He really changed the way we attacked the game from the back half and despite some adversity at various times, worked his way through.

He should be very proud of his career and will be missed.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

A genuine 'get you up out of your seat' excitement machine.

According to team mates, always came into the club with a smile on his face.

        212 games from a pick 39 rookie.

How could you not love this guy?

          BullGod forever.
Whenever I watch the 2016 replay (still the best viewing one can get) I still get scary flashbacks when that goal gets incorrectly and stupidly overturned (and sydney fans still somehow like to think the fix was on). It would have been the most bulldog thing ever to lose after that.

But like Sedat said. 2016 was different. We were something else that year.

If there was any doubt we'd win the flag, it died then. I knew in Round 4, but did have a little panic at the over turned decision.

I was sat at JJs table at the East West dinner in his first season. His place card said 'Johan Johannisen'. I'm only two years older than him but the poor guy was so nervous, could barely speak to the table. We all thought "Gee we've been dudded, getting the rookie who will probably get delisted next year".

Well, we didn't get that prediction right!

Great career. Not many 200 gamers at the dogs. Even fewer premiership players. And only one Norm Smith medallist!

I understand it, but it still sucks. The eternal optimist in me straight away went to "maybe they will rookie him and he can play a dozen games or whatever" but full tributes on the website is the permanent marker on the wall.

                    #legend.

Shame as I thought he had another season in him. Was good off half back this year. The prelim for mine was his highlight of highlights. I wonder though whether we would have had more highlights had Bevo not tried to turn him into a forward for 4 seasons!

Love JJ. A couple of moments really stand out for me and I can recall them at will.

The burst of speed and kick into space for Bont in the final qtr of the 16 prelim.

And the denied goal at the end of the GF when we all thought we'd won and then had this sickening moment of thinking the evil footy gods were back!

His line breaking speed was something to behold he really was a major part of the GF win and will always be a special player to me for that reason.

I hope he doesn't play somewhere else sentimentally, but, sentiment doesn't pay the bills and with a young family he should be seeking to extend if he can.

Edit : thought of another one. The goal v the Swans to win up there one year.
Bont marked it and then JJ made space inside 50..
He then slotted the goal from 40 on a slight angle and won the game !

                        Go to 5 mins 30.

I have to say I totally agree. Two things stand out in my sixty odd years as a Bulldog supporter. This moment, and EJ's last game.

PS: Thanks, JJ, for all the pleasure you gave us over the years.
