How is Cody a selfish footballer? That is ridiculously harsh - what because he flies for marks? You do realise this has always been a massive part of his game and is a reason as to why he?s so good? Yes he needs to learn when to go and when to stay down, which he will - hes what 22yo? It?s not that simple of a thing to tell a marking target who?s spent their whole life being told to fly for everything they can get their hands to, to put that intent aside. It will come. It definitely doesn?t make him selfish.

There?s not a single person in the AFL world who would take VDM over Cody lol, one is one of the more highly rated young forwards in the league who will be a consistent 40 goal a year forward and one is a completely flawed ?athlete? Ho won?t be on a list within 2 years
Bolded bit. Not on Saturday. Vandermeer 6 tackles, Weightman 4, Naughton 1. Bigdog is only referring to tackles, pressure and hard work, qualities grossly lacking in the forward line. Weightman is light years ahead in everything else but Vandermeer is a lot better than many give him credit.

I think it's a clear rule of the forum that no-one is to say anything nice about VDM.

This thread is very close to needing the mods to step in.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I would love just once that when Laith hits a stationary player when running at full tilt that he doesn't tackle him around the head.

It happens way too many times for it to be clumsy.

3rd worst for overall tackles, worst for pressure acts. There?s a difference between tackles inside 50 and tackles by forwards it?s mids, Weightman and West doing the tackling, the tall forwards are sitting on current totals of 11 - 13, West and Weightman 28-30, Bont?s on 88. Stats aside, just look at how easily opposition defenders clear and launch attacks.
