Re: Player Contract Status
What's the WA property market like? Seems like a big call to purchase there if there's no long term intent to stay, unless of course investment is lucrative/ attractive in that market.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: Player Contract Status
She's born in Sydney. Hmm, wonder if her family is in Perth. Just thinking about any need to be close to family.
Otherwise could just be investment reasons as you entertain.BT COME BACK!

I would be really pissed off if we lost Tim.FFC: Established 1883

Re: Player Contract Status
I read a quote from her when she signed that she has family and friends in Perth. I would take that to be extended family rather than immediate, but I'm only guessing. I wonder if this is Tim's or her parent's investment as netball players don't make big money.
Will you be pissed on if he stays?

Re: Player Contract Status
I agree if we lost English it would not be the end of the world.
What would suck is we have lost all our leverage. If Power thought English was a 50/50 chance of going we should have pulled the trigger and traded him last trade period.More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

Re: Player Contract Status
Yeah, nah... with the premiership window very much open we are in a much better position with Tim on our list than on WC's.
Happy to re-visit this at the end of the year if Tim's performances aren't improving, but Tim playing well gives us a better chance to win the comp which is the aim and if we don't get full market value by hanging on to him this year, then so be it.Comment

it all depends what eagles or dockers would give up for English. If the trade was for a readymade ruckman who could walk straight into the number one ruck role i'd look to do the deal.More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

Re: Player Contract Status
If we got the Eagles’ Bailey Williams and something on top in return for English, I’d pull the trigger. He’s never going to be a dominant #1.Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

Are we forgetting how young English is?
Rucks do take time.
I'm confident he can come good and be the top dog.Last edited by Grantysghost; 16-02-2022, 03:06 PM.BT COME BACK!

Re: Player Contract Status
We are screaming for ruck depth, yet people are prepared to get rid of Tim. How many 205cm talls can roam the ground like Tim. It is not just about tap outs you know.
However, with Steph in his last year, we need to target someone mature who can help out.FFC: Established 1883

Re: Player Contract Status
I'd argue we are screaming out for one actually decent ruck, and the lack of depth is another lesser (but still significant) concern.
English is a very good player, no doubt, but as an actual ruckman he is yet to impress thus far.I should leave it alone but you're not rightComment
