Re: WB Game Day V Essendon R21 2021

    Soft underbelly exposed tonight.

Mids let them get too much clean ball from the middle and our paper thin defence caved.

An absolutely disgraceful performance at this time of the year against Essendon's weakest 22 for the year.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Not only did we throw away top spot, we’ve stamped Essendons ticket into the finals.

Re: WB Game Day V Essendon R21 2021

I thought we’d lift in last quarter. Wrong. Gee Daniel, Libba and a few others were below average today. Hopefully it is a wake up call.

Any reason why Bevo did not change things in middle eg give Baz, Treloar, Dunks, Williams & even Daniel more time in the guts?

Hope we shake the goal kicking yips.

Number one stat that we just turned up and thought it was going to happen. Our midfield let them walk it out of the centre clearances for how many goals for the game? We dominated field play but the combination of easy goals out of the centre and superior goal kicking accuracy was the difference. So disappointing.

The centre clearance situation is so confusing. Why did we continuously stand forward side of our opponent when draper was dominating Tim and hitting it into a paddock for Stringer.

Just can’t believe we couldn’t adjust they kicked 5 from centre clearance.

We had 60-39 inside 50’s so it wasn’t like we got totally destroyed, but with clean ball going inside 50 for Essendon we were always going to struggle with Cordy & Schache as our key defenders.

Not sure we throw the toys out of the cot just yet, but quite a few looked flat and we need to get the mix right.

Can we sack Dunkley if he’s so intent on getting to Essendon?

Our mids were the reason we lost today. The forwards didn’t convert and our defenders couldn’t win a contest, but we’d still have won if our mids decided to defend. I’m sick of their precious efforts. You can’t decide when you want to turn up. That is not a premiership mentality. We’re not winning it this year. We don’t have the mentality for it and our defence can’t shut forwards out. Sam Power needs to get on the phones to get us a legit defender and ruck.

This is the thing that pisses me off the most. We can see it, the players and coaches can see it, but they're just too arrogant to do anything about it.

Just nullify it, roll a number up, then you can have two offencive and two defencive at the stoppage and rely on your talent.

                      So arrogant.
                      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Horrendous. Got a call halfway through the match that a friend had passed away as well. Getting smashed from all angles.

Lots of gin to be drunk tonight.

I think everyone needs to settle down a touch, yes incredibly disappointing but nothing that we can’t fix. The tackle count reflects the mindset we came in with. We won’t be the first team to go into a pre finals game with a bit of self preservation in mind.

Belted at clearance and quite clearly struggling in a few areas but still managed more inside 50s and scoring shots. Turn clearance around, get some mobility into the forward line and these things change pretty quickly.

Bruce injury is my biggest concern coming out of the game the rest will be fixed with an attitude adjustment and a few personnel changes.

If we can’t manufacture English as our third tall forward I would prefer we just play the two talls. Ball pinged out too often and Jamarra didn’t really impact in the air either.
