Re: WB Game Day V Essendon R21 2021
I’m kind of with dogtown on this.
We didn’t play very well, we were flat, we weren’t as hard at the contest as you would expect us to be. But we have a chance to lick our wounds and turn it around.
We were too heavy around the contest today. No point of difference and they shut down our space when we won it too easily. Most of the time we didn’t win it at all, however we persisted with positioning ourselves as though we were +50 in contested ball and clearance.
We couldn’t manufacture enough ball in the hands of Daniel and Dale.
Dare I say it, we missed Roarke doing a defensive job, and maybe, we missed Hannan too.
We definitely missed Cody - we’ve become reliant on him as a medium forward, crumbing player and someone who can pressure.
English played a stinker - it’s a game that makes me think we roll the dice on Martin (and maybe JUH misses out) if Martin can get himself on the park for a game before finals and survives it.
Treloar and Dunkley have improvement to make - both are just getting back into their footy though.
If Bruce has done a knee that’s devastating because he’s had a brilliant year.
