Re: WB Game Day V Essendon R21 2021

I’m kind of with dogtown on this.

We didn’t play very well, we were flat, we weren’t as hard at the contest as you would expect us to be. But we have a chance to lick our wounds and turn it around.

We were too heavy around the contest today. No point of difference and they shut down our space when we won it too easily. Most of the time we didn’t win it at all, however we persisted with positioning ourselves as though we were +50 in contested ball and clearance.

We couldn’t manufacture enough ball in the hands of Daniel and Dale.

Dare I say it, we missed Roarke doing a defensive job, and maybe, we missed Hannan too.

We definitely missed Cody - we’ve become reliant on him as a medium forward, crumbing player and someone who can pressure.

English played a stinker - it’s a game that makes me think we roll the dice on Martin (and maybe JUH misses out) if Martin can get himself on the park for a game before finals and survives it.

Treloar and Dunkley have improvement to make - both are just getting back into their footy though.

If Bruce has done a knee that’s devastating because he’s had a brilliant year.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Yes English is for some reason no good in the ruck. Just doesn't seem to enjoy the ruck duels at all.

So Schache is going back forward? Schache back with Keath & Gardner. Cordy forward?

What a *!*!*!*!ing disaster today has been.

This year can get absolutely *!*!*!*!ed.

Flag chances pretty much up in smoke now.

I can't see Martin getting back. If we weren't in the hunt he probably would've announced his retirement by now.

We're going to have to roll the dice with Sweet in the ruck and English as forward/2nd. And hope that Keath gets back to his best.

Even then, that set up isn't threatening any of the good teams.

Disappointing today but the sign of a good team is the response in the next game. The Bombers were more hungrier than us today but we kept in there. We should have taken our chance early on in the 1st quarter when we dominated. After that they got on top and that was that.

For some reason Stringer being there compounds it for me.

This was the game to try the English / Sweet combination , if Martin cannot get on the park . This is the future and the MC need to start investing time into this. Draper toweled English today . Bruce was ineffective in the ruck and it’s actually a risk of injury having him there

Really sad to hear about Bruce injury , hopefully his recover is fast and efficient
