In regards to Smith he definitely has some holes in his game but you expect that at his age. On a positive not he absolutely blew Brisbane away with his ability to run late in the game. I tend to think some of his flaws will disappear in a more familiar role. Certainly we shouldn’t be looking at trading him 1- he is unique in our midfield with his attributes 2- he is the future of our midfield.

As frustrating as his field kicking has been he is a good finished around goals.

Correct. No way we win without him. Was a huge game. Burns some balls at times, yes.

What was with the celebration? I saw on the replay a few Lions fans giving the one finger salute to him. Was it directed at them? Or just jovial celebration towards the few Dogs fans in that area.

Brisbane players no need to give any fingers, as they have not won any finals that counted. They do not even deserve that privilege.

See them next year in another losing final, regardless how orchestrated the AEFL try to get them into a GF>

He was interviewed after the game and wasn’t jubilant at all.

Footage in the rooms was players were going up to him and given him a tap on the shoulder or leg. Just doesn’t look good.

Hopefully I’m wrong.

Was I watching in another universe? In his interview he said he thought he was fine.

In the rooms they looked normal. I dunno, we’ll obviously have to wait and see but I thought his interview was a good sign.

Only saw the last quarter, but really pleased with the result. Next week will be tough, but we can do it. If Cody doesn't play then its Wallis in for me. Lakes his pace, but is a big bodies player with good hands.

The spirit of this group was bloody tremendous. Just really proud of our footy club.

Smith has flaws, sure, but his run and his clutch goals were unreal.

I only posted once on this thread - at half time - and said we would win if we kept the effort up. And we did keep the effort up. We NEVER chucked it in. We can go into the Prelim full of confidence.

We have a lot of improvement to look forward to. Nailing set shots - huge potential to improve. Delivery going inside 50 - we butchered it SO many times. Huge potential there.

Our defence was heroic. So many courageous and desperate acts. Well done boys.

Tim English - he grew a foot in the last quarter. Coming of age game from him. We would not have won without his effort.

So proud of the players. We shouted the house down with our barracking. Insane game. Only enjoyable when the siren went. The exquisite pain of victory. Go Dogs!

Jacko - an epic performance. There are no superlatives good enough. 400K words in English and not ONE is adequate to describe the greatness of your game tonight. Caleb Daniel not far behind. I love this Club

the last five minutes are unbelievable
starts with caleb deliberate and neale's point to make it 72-72
Wood and Duryea were huge
Zorko snap from the top of the goalsquare and missed everything!!
the keath/mccarthy tangle resulting in a dogs downfield free
Hannan's handball to Baz and the finish on the left
they show them doing the stability tests on Bont's knee and he is wincing - not a great sign
duryea on charlie cameron! incredible
caleb daniel's hack kick with 20 seconds left that landed in roarke's arms
the pressure on zorko when he kicked the last one in
