Don’t normally comment on umpiring much but there was plenty that went against us as well. Some major ones went our way but they were there. What the hell was big Oscar thinking at that last centre bounce? Just stepped across the line straight away and gave us a deep entry.

The Keath one off the ball late seemed lucky but Libba had just got pinged for in the back which I thought was incorrect.

The Keath one off the ball late seemed lucky but Libba had just got pinged for in the back which I thought was incorrect.

The Keath one was soft but had to be paid. If it’s not, Keath is on the ground and they have a free forward target as brisbane were going to bomb it in from the dubious in the back free against Libba.

We got plenty of calls in the second half but they were all there. I love it how everyone just forgets the dubious ones the lions got. Both clubs got dubious calls. Ours are just more apparent because a) we won and b) we play a more contested style so we attract more frees. It’s pretty simple but our sport has a shitload of simple followers who are guided by the simpleton media.

Lions gave away something like 7 high free kicks, we gave away 1. We clearly tackle and pressure in such a way as to not give free kicks and that's why we are top of the free kick differential ladder. We don't get more frees than other clubs, we just away a lot less than everyone else and that's supposedly a bad thing?

Bailey Williams had perhaps an unheralded game. 8 intercepts for us, 300+ metres gained, and is just always composed and defensively minded.

I don't know if he ran too far anyway. Did most of that work in the one spot.
