I was thinking after the game that perhaps this is the time for Brisbane to take the next step and really put it together. They seem to have a very balanced list and some of the younger guys who were already very very good players are ripe for becoming stars.

If we have a full complement in defence then I think Schache will play forward more often than not. I'm not too sure we'll deviate away from Keath, Gardner and Cordy as our defencive talls until O'Brien comes back.

Our set-up to me smells a bit of foxing to try and keep everyone guessing. Hopefully the players aren't!

I’m with you, they’re in it up to their necks. Fair chance they would have knocked off Port in the prelim too, if they’d gotten past us.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Who likely gets the assignment on Fritsch when we play Melbourne in R1?

I think that is probably the best match-up for us.

I think Frisch has too much aerial power for Williams. Having said that, not sure who else we have.

I know he isn't regarded as much of a regular player for the season ahead but for a horses for courses option he could be in the mix.

I just watched the replay and I can't see what Martin offers that Sweet doesn't.
I would tell Stef if he wants to play its in the seconds otherwise his the new ruck coach.

Think our forward line will be a revolving door at times this season (until Bruce returns) with the likes of Bont, Schache, Cordy and English being used as options. We may also see O’Brien used there as well. Whilst not ideal as you really want a stable spine it does provide options that we can throw the likes of these guys forward and at least make a contest. The biggest concern is definitely Naughton being our reliant go to player. We definitely need to provide options but also ensure those delivering the ball that they actually look for alternatives.

As others have stated it is not our lack of supply but the ability to convert the supply into goals.
