    What's the blocker?

Did they go to St Bede's?

It would be good to beef up the experience factor but I think we were priced out of it last season.
Bolton and Leppa would have added a lot to the Pies.

We should get both Josh Kennedys, and the one that used to play for the Socceroos. A whole assistant coaching panel of Josh Kennedys would be unstoppable.

How are we pricing ourselves out, whilst most other clubs are looking to add senior coaching experience to their group?

Where are we spending the $$ and have we got any form of ROI?

I suppose this is all part of the review.

It all comes down to how clubs divvied up the soft cap money. Some teams like Port the coaches apparently took significant pay cuts to keep the team together. Other teams didn't really cut into the sports science and physical development teams which was seen as more specialized and harder to cover and other teams just dropped the numbers as best they could.
I think many recruitment departments took hits.
With a reduced amount of money many assistant coaches could earn more elsewhere outside of the AFL so it was a thinner market when King and Hansen departed.

With an additional 500K in the cap it will certainly help bring back some established coaches and there should be more options for us.
How far that goes is an interesting question. Do we need to catch up some people that took the hit over the last 2 years or do we just look to land one or two assistant coaches and top up with a number of part time support staff.

When I check some of the other clubs coaching panels we see to be at least one coach light on when compared to other teams.

Why don't people ever take pay cuts to stay with us?

I'm sure some have. I think the timing of two key departures hurt us in what ended up being a thin market when we were shopping around.

Chris Grant did but that was light years ago.

I wonder if we can get JFK Jr to give up his resurgent political career and get on board with us.?
