Yeah, skillful players usually shine in their handling and composure in the wet and this was true for Arty in spaced. Even when he wasn't able to dispose of it he only once gave it up through handling, the rest of the time he was solid.

I know Bevo gets a bit of shit about his media performances, but this is an informative effort from him which in truth, was facilitated by some reasonable questioning for a change.

Loved Bevo's press conference. Actually some good questions for a change.

Hated the territory game, 29 forward 50 stoppages for Giants.

That's what we are trying to do, territory either clean or keep by turnover, score or stoppage.

When asked how we are improving in areas he said he thinks we've been getting some composed ball off of live ball better then earlier in the season.

Worth a watch he's been refreshingly open this year.

Maybe it's too glass half empty for this forum. Giving up a 5 goal lead (and they missed a couple as well) so we almost threw that one away. It doesn?t sit well with me as it's a trend that we can't seem to stop. I'll be very happy with a win over Carlton next week and it would start to sway my thoughts, I really don't expect that though. Play like that and they'll belt us.

One reporter in particular had some really good questions with data to back it up. It was refreshing to hear reporters who ask questions that do actual research.

So no actual justification why you thought Lobb in your words was very ordinary?

Agree with comments about Bevo in the press conference, he is performing better in that arena and I’d say aside from the ongoing bug bears I have, he has pulled the right levers with the group.

JJ return to form is telling, Caleb’s adjusted role seems to be a net positive and overall the physicality hasn’t dipped below the requisite standard for at least a month now.

                  Feel that.

Obviously we’ll appreciate banking points as the season progresses, but I’ll really start to believe if over the next month of footy we can put some complete performances together and find a way to slow down the violent, catastrophic runs of goals against in what seems like an ever more efficient goals to disposal ratio. Every team suffers swings in momentum, every team gets scored against, but the swiftness and efficiency in which it happens to us will cost us against better teams, and eventually in a final again.

Have we worked out Macrae's altered role yet? To be honest I haven't spent much time trying however his numbers are vastly different from other years.

More half forward is the obvious one. Trying to see if there's some sacrificial element like Brayshaw did.

Granted I was on the couch but didnt he play in the same conditions as JUH, who you gave an out to.
Lobb was okay and in my opinion better than last week.
There is a a decent gap between Marra's best and worst efforts and it's concerning.
I thought we went into the game too tall given the conditions.

Good questions make for a good interview. Informative and balanced from Bevo.

Huge game against Carlton and it will be a good indication of where we really are.

Marra didn’t seem to want to kick a few extra goals. He was invested in dishing it off to team mates. Hated that. You are the gun, kick the goals mate.
