-41 Bulldog players have been nominated for a Rising Star
-We have had nine years without a nomination in 32 seasons
-It looks like Plough was not fond of playing young talent!!!!!!
-The most nominations we have ever had in a season is three (1993, 2001, 2002, 2014)

How many Rising Stars were busts? Obivously open to interpretation.

I have Grgic (borderline), Nicholson, Penny, Talia, Hrovat, Honeychurch. That is six of 41. So decent odds if you get a nomination you have some type of career.

AFL has just confirmed under revised rules since McKernan in 1994 the Rising Star judges now only vote for eligible players. So players like Darcy and by this afternoon Reid "who have been found guilty of a reportable offence shall be ineligible and shall not receive votes".

100% corrupt award anyway - decided by petty hatred (KB giving Ryan Griffen zero votes to help Brett Deledio win), bias towards certain teams and against others, and most of all by betting plunges.

Never forget when David King made massive bets on outsider Lewis Taylor to beat the overwhelming favourite, Marcus Bontempelli. King then used his position in the media to talk up Taylor on TV, on the radio and in the newspaper, and continuously influence the opinion of fellow media commentators who were voting on the RS award.

In the end King was able to get enough voters to flip on Bontempelli and give Taylor top votes to change the result of the award. Taylor pipped Bont by 1 vote, King was a very rich man, and the RS award was forever tainted.

Good news and the silver lining is that Darcy will avoid and hype and media around winning the award this year. Rigged anyway as they would by default give this award to the Eagles to pull them up. God knows that a tall kid playing in the forward half would be in front of a midfielder running around get easy kicks.
