Best to ignore and find non mainstream sources.
Richmond lost their B&F winner, their most exciting and possibly most talented mid/forward and a very solid veteran premiership player on top of the retirement of their best defender and one of the best players in their history. Then spend 6 top 30 picks on a mix of Players who include, a kid coming off an ACL, a kid with concussion issues and possibly a couple of talls who were reaches.
If that’s a good off season, I’ll take our shit one.

Absolutely. As long as we know here on woof then that's all that matters.

      I don't watch the news.

I happened across it at my father in laws the other day, fmd..! No wonder everyone is miserable injecting that package of misery into their physche every night.

First thing to teach any young developing person is critical thinking.

It's so interesting to me how normalised this blatant fear mongering is.

Take a step back and look at what they're selling. If you still like it, sweet.

The Tigers are in disarray atm.

I think people also have very short memories. The glut of talent at GC and GWS's disposal, draft after draft, seemed to be passed the tipping point of how many players you could draft and develop to their full capacity.

MJP would likely be the most equipped to talk to this, but is there a real risk some players either rise or fall depending on the list they land in? I wonder how many of those early recruits GC/GWS that became middling at best were hamstrung by not having enough senior talent/leaders around them to compete with/learn from/drive standards.

Having leaders to drive standards on and off the field is vital. How would a young 18yo know what elite level is required day in and out to succeed?

It's a dangerous tactic by Richmond and has rarely if ever succeeded. The giants were successful enough because they did better at targeting established players.

The San Antonio spurs in the nba are a current example of the value of leadership. They've added Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes to a side of 20yos and the difference this season to last is obvious.

My thoughts exactly. If I were a parent, I would have been hoping that my kid didn't land at Richmond in the next few years. It will also be interesting to see the approach the new Tassie team takes.

#2: Our club does a really poor job of sticking up for itself.
Dogs, North, St Kilda and Melbourne are easy to marginalise for the AFEL media. There are no repercussions punching down on a small target in a crowded marketplace. Melbourne get slightly more leeway than the other 3 because of the old money/MCC connection and also winning 12 flags to 1964 - harder to fully bash them when they have won so many flags.

This is why I love Bevo giving as little as possible to the media, which is not a contrived position by him - it's just him being his natural authentic self, which is all anybody should be. Why give an inch to a group that will always marginalise you? I hate the idea of Bevo going on some BS charm offensive with the media who are frankly not deserving of any time and attention beyond the bare minimum. Let him coach and coach well.

Obviously losing Smith for not much was pretty poor. Thpught we did well with the Daniel trade and I personally would have held onto Macrae.

I'm happy with the selections in the draft. They seem to be trying to replace a few areas of weakness on the list

Do we not have some Father Sons coming through next year?

26 I believe are the next likely ones (Cooney and West, BT?)

                      Covers 2 of our players

The bookmark for Josh Dolan is where you want to start and they talk a bit about Kennedy at the 7:25 mark.

That’s my understanding. Not seeing any other names appearing for next year at this stage in match reports etc.
