Like you say, Picken had a very good defensive game, and he was involved in winning a lot of contested ball and a number of clearances. His general ability to be involved and help create something offensively has improved a lot, and he's really combining the negating and attacking aspects just about to perfection at the moment.
I've been pleasantly surprised with his skills. He's deceptively agile, doesn't often lose his feet and is good by hand and foot. Not bad for a bargain basement kid.

No, I agree. Like I said, I don't think Picken was to blame for two of them. If Harvey walks away from a game on Liam with 27 and 1 (and little influence), I'll take that. I think Harvey is too good a player to totally remove from a game, but to quell his influence is a win IMO.

Could have given the Norf fan who bothered to turn up a vote!!
Honestly there were more Adelaide fans at Etihad earlier in the year!

            2. Roughy
            1. Johnno (just kidding)

                  4. Boyd - 40 possessions, had the ball on a string, although some bad turnovers as well.
                  3. Hall - 7 goals and two posters, great effort, but the players upfield feeding him deserve most of the credit.
                  2. Hudson, dominated the ruck with 20 hitouts plus was very good around the ground.
                  1. Gia - 5 goals, good game, attacked the ball so well today.

                  2. Roughead - improving every week.
                  1. Grant - started slowly but finished off well.

Apologies to Gia, Cross, Hudson, Picken (would have got votes had Harvey not been as good as he was).

                            4. Hall (four quarters of dominance)
                            3. Boyd (second half was outstanding)
                            2. Morris (ultra-reliable when things weren't going well in the first half)
                            1. Johnno (perhaps a little generous but he seemed to have his old spark back)
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
