Re: Campbell Rose Resigns
Cam Rose, forever a legend of the club. He had no allegiances with the club, or the game, yet performed a superhuman effort in transforming the club from basket case to vibrant, innovative and community centred. All hail Cameron.Footscray Football Republic.Comment

Re: Campbell Rose Resigns
Cam's interview on SEN yesterday was fascinating -- he basically just laid out where the Dogs are at now, and it was an impressive list of achievements. One thing I found interesting was when he said we 'haven't yet won a premiership', then corrected himself and said that the club maybe needed to change its language so that it doesn't become a burden and just focus on 'being competitive every year'. I don't know if I should take this as realistic (as a businessperson) or a little bit fatalistic (for a sports team).
I especially liked his optimism about the next ten years being the Decade of the Dogs. I've been saying this to anyone who would listen, and it's good to know that the club is headed in that direction as well. No reason we couldn't become one of the powerhouses of the comp over the next ten years.
Staying on the board would be a win-win situation.Comment

Re: Campbell Rose Resigns
Great comments Lantern. Cam wants to serve on the Board at a later date. The Board fully suppport this. He will still stay involved with the demolition of the debt campaign. He believes he still has unfinished business. It is so good to know that Cam wants to stay involved with the Club. I can only wish him every success in his new role. Thank you Cam Rose for an outstanding job at the Bulldogs. We are now on the right path to increased optimism. I agree there is no reason why we could not become one of the powerhouses of the AFL comp over the next ten years.
