Mark or Nigel's son? Either way, would've barely played the 100 game minimum?

      Nigel. 101 games from memory.

I'm sure the AFL are working on plans to make the qualification 102 games from next year.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Well it depends on how good a teacher he was. If he was as good at teaching as he was senior coaching I am not all that suprised...

The AFL has given permission for Michael Romero, son of Jose, to train with Western Bulldogs this year under the rules for Father/Son prospects.

Michael is lot taller and leaner than the last time I saw him.

Looks a good size. More muscles than J Grant already and he's only 16 or 17.

                      Re: Future Father/Sons

He looks a bit bulkier than last year, but he was the smallest kid I've just about ever seen, even for bottom year. He needs to keep growing as I'd guess he was 165cm or so last year and we are choc full of smalls. I had a sense he was very confidant in himself, so the recent remarks by Dalrymple that he needs to be less selfish at times might change the way he plays.

As a matter of interest how many games did Jose play with Norf?

Couldn't stand the suspense so I looked it up. 89.

In that case I hope he turns out to be a gun even more to even the ledger with the Reid boys whose old man played about the same.

Romero Senior's Wikipedia page says he still holds the beep test record of 17.1 is that still right? Even if not, 17.1 is stupid. It's the equivalent of when people say 0.4% alcohol is lethal. 17.1 beep is lethal.

Wouldn't matter, José wouldn't let his son play at Norf even if they drafted him!

I remember it being up in the clubrooms at the time. There was a bit of debate about how accurate it was but the club had it as the official record.
