    Dale Morris What a legend

I don't think I have ever come across a bloke like Dale. He gives his all for the club and his team mates and really loves his football. He did everything he possibly could to play this year at AFL level including 3 games in the VFL.

I have no doubt he will give himself every chance to play again. Good Luck Moz.

Does his knee, yet still out there with the supporters after the game.

Dale said Alex Johnson rang him and said to him the reconstruction is worth it if gives you one more game.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Sadly age has a big part in this.

How about his demeanour on Sunday
Just outstanding and I’m sure he realised it would have a detrimental effect on the players if he was downcast

I wish Dale all the best in his recovery. I hope that is not the last game I’ll witness him play in the red white and blue.

A mate of mine said that just after Melbourne had beaten us at Whitten Oval in 1981 by a point. We were sitting at the Geelong rd end throwing rocks at coppers (we were kids, sue us!) about half an hour after the game finished when I looked over at him and there was a tear drop falling down his cheek and his bottom lip had started to wobble. I pointed and said something incredibly mature like "You're crying!" (God knows I felt like doing it too-I just couldn't see when we would win another game-ever) and he came out with the "Get *!*!*!*!ed, that's just bullshit. I got some dust in my eyes"

We ended up winning two games that season. We beat Melbourne in the return game at Waverly by 5 goals on the back of 6 from Shane Loveless and 5 from Steven Knight and Essendon at Whitten Oval in a low scoring game by 8 points. Melbourne didn't win another game and won the spoon.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

The body transformation of Dale is massive. To think in his first game he ran with (and comprehensively beat) Andrew Mcleod and yet he evolved into a pseudo key defender is mind boggling.

Apparently Bevo caught up with Morris for about an hour yesterday to discuss what might lie ahead for the 36-year-old.

                    Should be an interesting outcome.

                      I get the feeling retirement.

If you think about it a year off will take him to round 18 19 next year

I think retirement is a very likely option but we could use him as a development coach or even a Footscray coach. Could we even rookie list him? One way or the other I'd do what I could to keep him at the club

If he retires can we use him for spare parts when other players break down?

                            It's what Dale would want.

Would any of the 8 or so clubs take him in the rookie draft before us? If so, imagine Dale in a GCS jumper, or Carlton jumper. Eww.
