I wouldn’t be surprised if he decides to pull on a Footscray jumper for a few more years in a Hodge-like player defensive coach role.

I say give him a rookie spot. At worst he comes back late in Footscray’s season for their finals run, but he also is an insurance policy in the event of injuries down back.

We can't 'give' him a rookie spot. We first have to delist him and then hope he falls to our pick in the rookie draft 8-10. If GCS, Carlton etc decide to pick him up then he's playing elsewhere next year.

A coaching role would be better to me. At Footscray or a part time role like Matty Scarlett had a few years ago, which I don't think we've replaced
