Think our major problem was delivery into the forward line and the rebound we got caught on so many times.
We had only 7 players from last years gf, give it a couple of weeks to gel.
Bailey Dale is the baby face assassin if ever I saw one, kid can play !
Couldn't agree more. Bombed forward to often and didn't have anyone presenting or prepared to go short. Got caught out to often and almond needed an old fashioned sweeper .

Side note: Tom Liberatore was at the game and Chris maple was giving instructions and moving the players around on the board at 3/4 time.
Also bought membership, the key ring is awesome, I would buy membership just for that.
I thought it was a well run day and things for the kids given out free.
And a sausage sizzle just like Bunnings.. Now that's grass roots footy.

I guess it really is a whole new side(only 7 premiership players) from last season and it's going to take them some time to gel.
          The curse is dead.

Yep it's an entirely different side so at times we just looked out of sync. The forward line just didn't mesh today, seemed to get in each others way a lot. Box Hill's delivery and forward structure did look better. All that being said some umpiring decisions go our way and we put a few more through the sticks and this game was ours. We'll be at the top end of the table again this season.

A few players I thought were solid:
McLean, Clay & Rourke Smith, Redpath

              General comments:
Foot speed was lacking across the park but didn't stop us from playing a relatively quick tempo game.
Marking in the F50 early was lacking, but improved.
We defended the quick kick out of our F50 really well, locking it in. Similar to the seniors.
I missed McLean in mine. Thought he was very good, although it's obvious the bloke has lied on his birth certificate. If he's 19 then so am I.

Food at reasonable prices even some mini Pancake Parlour pancakes were appreciated by the fans and it was a good pro Bulldog crowd.
Being allowed onto the balcony provided a great view on the game.
The Footscray President Susan Alberti was there along with the number one ticket holder in Scott West and of course the club President Peter Gordon.

On top off all that the ground is in great condition as well.

Bailey Dale is continuing his excellent form. Hamling provided strong defensive efforts and will just get better this year and every now and then McLean and Hamilton remind you how good they are and will be in the near future. Seeing Clay Smith back and in such great form was a real highlight as well.

We didn't win the game but it was still an enjoyable experience.
I liked that. Nice touch. Unfortunately I did notice the fixture was wrong, had the game starting at 1400, so might be worth checking the website rather than relying on the printed one inside the ticket.

Watched it on TV and the commentators said that for those watching that's its a great day out if your into your suburban footy. Heard the crowd was about 2000 odd which is quite decent for a VFL match. Was so good watching today at home knowing where all the features of the WO are.

Was talking to one of the dogs helpers today he said VFL side had 300 members before today so I would imagine we at least doubled that

                        It's only $60 for a membership. ☺

I'll try to post a pic tomorrow sometime.

                          A $60 key ring? ok...
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

300 members (before the match) * 60 = $18,000. I am pretty certain it costs far more than that to field a VFL side. The key ring is spectacular, in case nobody mentioned it.

This Ring of the Key sounds interesting.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
