Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023
I am still holding out hope on Crossy and this is not a resignation in any way, shape or form, but I would officially like to place DFA as another "Operation Get" candidate. Never quite able to cement an AFL spot but maybe in the category of "Too good for VFL, not quite for AFL". The kid has got oodles of ticker too (as is well documented).

Pretty sure he has also taken up a position with GWS.

The fat lady is not singing and the door has not closed...
...is anyone else of the opinion that, like Port Adelaide, we should be lobbying the AFL for another spot on our Rookie list to replace the Rookie that gets updated for Crameri? It only seems fair and logical.
Cometh the hour... surely Crossy gets a phone call. Again, he is a great fit for the VFL team (see more reasons we mus t get Cross above) and provides some great insurance should we need an elevation later in the year. Sure he has told the Dee's he will do a development role, but should a Rookie spot open up he wouldn't be able to say no.
Surely somebody here has some connections that can get teh ball rolling on this? Peter? Peter, put down the appeal paperwork and get on the blower to Crossy!
One things for sure, if there is a player off an AFL list who would be fit enough to walk in and be ready to go in February/March, it'd be Crossy. Getting 99% of players now would be a waste of time, but he'd be ready. Has other responsibilities this year, but may drop them for one last chance at AFL time (particularly with us).
Personally I think of all the player types Bevo would be after Cross would be at the bottom of the list. Slow, average skills, limited defensive efforts, and incredibly slow to move the ball with any positivity.
I would be surprised if Bevo even considered it.

Completely agree. Sure he'd be fit enough to run out a game, but we've moved on to a game that relies on more dynamic midfield players.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

It just annoys me that he is at the Dees, the club where the supporters don't know their players' names. They have probably included snow shovelling in his job description.

If Essendon are allowed top up players and the other clubs don't, will they have more players on their list than us/saints/port/Dee's?
