So Swans didn't rate Dunks due to his kicking.

Think there's more to it, IMO.

They're stacked for inside mids; Kennedy, Jack, Heeney, Mills, Hanneberry & Parker is just about the best and deepest engine room in the league. Adding another and going into a points deficit next year obviously didn't sit well from a list management perspective.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

They did nominate JD for father/son so it's not as if they were completely disinterested. Guess they just felt they'd used up enough points on their other picks. Would matching bids with Dunkley have sent them into deficit?

Word was the Swans didn't want to go into deficit either - presumably more academy kids next year. And really its no different to us not nominating DarcyMac when we feel we have plenty of similar players to DarcyMac. Doesn't mean DarcyMac is crap just not a fit for our list.

Or perhaps not the right fit for the price they have to pay. If an offer came in closer to their pick at 51 I bet they may of picked him.

But Micka Talia was one they wanted.

I think it's more to do with their midfield stocks but selling a vision to their supporters that they had bigger needs whilst also highlighting a concern with Dunkley is the better PR piece.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Believe that they might have had to use their 1st and 2nd round picks in next years draft to secure Dunkster.

That makes no sense. Let's say they won the flag next year, why would they need to use pick 18 plus pick 36 to match pick 25?

For those that keep saying Sydney would have gone into points deficit - that is simply not true. They had the picks/points to match our bid in this draft, they chose not to.

I think it was a combination of him not matching their needs as explained by their recruiter and the fact he didn't really want to go to Sydney, staying in Victoria was clearly his preference.

Edit: Their first 2 picks next year could have been shuffled down a little had they gone into deficit, which is probably what you meant.
