Goetz seems so bloody nice. Might need to lose the man bun and do a bit of boxing for a while.
'Nice' and 'ruckmen' don't go well together. But neither did 'dance', 'butterfly' and 'heavy weight champion of the world' until Cassius Clay/Mohammad Ali took the title. Mind you he was a nasty bastard, racially vilifying and belittling Frasier and others. I bet Goetz has some mongrel in him. Montie might bring it out in him.

The above article fills in the Goetz background a bit more. He looks an athlete and has some nice stats to back it up; he was an excellent cross country runner at school and has a sub 18 minute 5 k run to his name, his 20 metre time was 2.88 sec.

Also exciting to note that he has grown considerably in past 18 months, so may even add a touch to the already more than handy 202 cm frame.

Ayce was always super skinny.. I think he was about 75kg when drafted.. Luke at least looks like he has soem meat on his bones, so his body composition won't change as much as Ayce's needed to.

And Ayce's biggest problem was, despite putting on a lot of weight and losing all his athleticism, he never actually became strong. He ended up the worst of both worlds, slow and weak.

Trying to predict what a player will look like when they so much development is like trying to pick the winning lotto numbers. It's really low percentage stuff. Goetz at least looks to have a frame to build on.

Luke seems to have a good character so hopefully he will be able to deal with the workload and military like discipline required. The culture at the club, touch wood, seems to be one of the healthiest in the league, in fact a showcase compared to some of the other clubs.
Take note AFL and be thankful for the Western Bulldogs, even though you don't support them in the same way you do the bigger clubs with far less integrity. AFL you need integrity, AFL you need to showcase the Western Bulldogs. Give them Friday nights, give them Good Friday and give them compensation for the atrocious stadium deal at Etihad that you oversaw.
