Look forward to some reports from TD, ledge or Smads57 from the hit out today.

Jordan Staley won everything in the ruck and great mark too.
Josh Grabowski is lightning would be a gun in AFL if he could kick anywhere near his intended target.
Hamling ruled the back line but did let the ball go over the top at times when he could have stopped it.
      Andrew Tachevski-Beckwith showed toe.
Hugh Wales looks like Fyfe , goes ok in close, seems to know where players are.
Shocking kicking for goals all day by both sides, the wind was a factor but some shots were horrid, seems to be a trait in our seniors too.
Should and could have won by 10 goals .
Orren Stephenson ( ex Geelong?) playing for Nth Ballarat took marks at will no one could stop him.
Josh Wallis has a very good foot and found players a long way away in space.
Caught up with a few friends so might have missed a few other players, I'm also in need of glasses so anything that happens at outer wing or in packs was hard for me to pick up.
All round we will be very hard to beat I would think and next week against Essendon could be a smashing.
Get down next week at 12 in Saturday and see the AFL players in the side.

Luke Beveridge, Adams and Redpath were the only seniors I saw today watching.

I seen Clay Smith, and Dad with Adams and at quarter time Libba was out on the ground close to the huddle. Also seen Hunter during the first term and JJ at half time. I wasn't looking out for players so there could have been more. These are just the players I seen while walking around between quarter breaks.

As to the game, I thought it was an impressive performance given the number of new faces this year and the very different team that played Collingwood last week. I thought Wally was one of the best on the ground in a fairly scrappy game hampered by the breeze - he was the cleanest and made good decisions with the ball. I expect he will get more game time than he did in 2015.

          Russell and Austin didn't play.

A couple of other 2015 players that had good games included Will Hayes, Nick Jamieson and across the backline, Anthony Barry who is suited to Bevos mark and play on style (though not the best by foot at times).

Probably the best of the new kids was the 'hyphen', 'TB' as his team mates call him (Tashevski-Beckwith). Not a big boy but prepared to run and worked hard all day.

The new recruit from Ess also had a good game - Dalgleish.

Both ruckman were a bit raw but competed well all day.

I think that once you add some of the AFL listed players to the group, we should enjoy another strong season from the VFL boys.

Oh, and Hamling did enough to put his hand up for selection next week (with Bevo was an interested onlooker).
There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist.

I got down there for the first half, so missed a fair bit of the game. Didn't grab a team sheet, either, so was flying a little bit blind on the newer blokes. It was a very young side by the looks of it and I thought Hamlimg moved okay.

He will benefit from another run in the VFL, but he's a good player. Looks to have improved his kicking a bit and attacks the ball really well. His normally really good timing for the spoil was just a tiny bit off, for mine.

I was pretty impressed with the ruckman #46. I thought he owned the drop of the ball at ruck contests really well and got in positions to direct the ball to his on ballers rather than just get it to ground and he handballs like an on baller. Thought he competed well around the ground too.

The Hayes boys are both really smart footballers. They remind me a little bit of Scott West the way they play.

I only saw the second half though.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Hi TD, I think the ruckman's number you are referring to was 43 (Giles Guest) and agree he worked well with his on ballers, one of them being number 46 - T-B

Jordan Slatey number 27 was great in the ruck , I believe he was playing against his old club.

You're right it was Giles Guest. Very impressed with him.

Yep. The guy next to me mentioned he was playing against his old club.

Really good performance into that tricky wind in the last quarter too. We locked the ball up well

This could be very messy for Essendon.

BY the way, great to Scott Wynd at the footy, looks fit and well. Had a good kick to kick session with his daughter. She isn't bad with her marking.
