In Liberatore and Macrae we've lost two players actually capable of short passing into the forward 50m, and we need to replace them with players who can do the same.
Only saw his game today in windy conditions and overall it was fine. Certainly a step above most out there. Seems to be taking his time to find a good short option rather than blazing which has been a flaw of his. Kicked 2 great set shots from a tight angle on the wrong side for a right footer.

Reckon he's a big chance to play against North next week.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Hrovat is building nicely and could be an option as a small mid/forward. Pretty sure he'd give us more than Jong or Stevens at the moment.

McLean took a nice mark reading the flight in the first minute, then got crunched and went quiet. Got up the ground and moved well but personally I think he needs another week at Footscray. He does have that special x factor though, so maybe Bev just chucks him in.

The wind makes 50% of the game almost unwatchable but damn its fun coming home with the wind when a winnable chase is on.
I remember watching the doggies when Teddy was captain and he used to regularly on a windy day kick against the wind after winning the toss. He did this he said because he knew the wind would be stronger in the fourth quarter. He even used to lose the toss but would make out he won it by immediately running away pointing to the end he wanted to kick to.

Often he didn't even wait for the coin to hit the ground before he'd run off pointing in the direction he wanted to kick.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I heard Dad and Honeychurch both injured, HC withdrew before the match. Fark.

Dad shoulder, Honeychurch I read somewhere injured his calf late in the week and was removed from the 25 man squad.

Who kicked the bomb from about 80 in the last? That was monstrous.

Didn't watch the game but sounds like that is a great kick.

Really frustrating. Even at VFL level we are suffering a bit. At least we got a win there today.

From memory, it was a torp off one step that the wind took hold of and went through post high.

If it was the last goal you are referring to, that was Russell.

In answer to an earlier post re Hrovat's kicking - it is much improved - more so his decision making which I have thought was holding him back.

Webb MUST go up this week. Fast becoming my fave VFL player to watch (after Wilbur who just continues to work his a**** off).

No, it was a few before his goal.
