It was an 80m kick with ease. 65m out and went another 15m past the goals.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Early in first qtr a box hill player kicked the ball and I rekon it bounced once then didn't bounce for another 30 metres the wind was that strong.

Did a Box Hill player get carried off on a stretcher?

I spent the day in the Royal Melb Hospital after getting knocked off my bike by a taxi (I'm ok) and the missus said there was a football player in a Hawthorn jumper in the room opposite me.

Must have been serious enough to be hospital Mantis, hope you don't have any pain even though you say you are ok.

Sorry I took your intial statement literally. Don't think they add on how far the ball travels after it crosses the goal line.

Yeah, got carted off in an ambulance.. Bit of whiplash from when my helmet hit the ground and some nasty bumps and bruises on the lower back/ hip.

And if kids think it isn't cool to wear a helmet.. Well they work.. My helmet is rooted, my head is fine.

Glad that you are alright Mantis. Lots of vehicles nowadays on the road with an ever increasing population now. Was it in the city somewhere I'm guessing you had the incident? Yes always like when driving car to wear your seatbelt or other protective gear (motorcycle or bike).

On Footscray Rd, taxi was coming off Citylink and didn't see me and cannoned into my back wheel.. I got spun around, flipped and landed on my back and then my head flung back into the road.. A witness thought I was dead.

Not a great experience, but got out of it pretty well.

Another Bulldog on the injured list.

Sounds bad but the main thing is that you are ok mate. I've heard Footscray Road bike path is a little dangerous.

Wasn't on the bike path.. Normally stay on the road when heading towards Footscray.. Might revisit this tactic next time around.

Oh yes in the designated bike lane on the road.

I've been there with the helmet.

When I was 14 I got knocked off my bike, totally uninjured but my helmet was smashed. My teacher asked me to bring it in to show the class.

I've got zero patience for people who ride without them.
