Re: SEMI FINAL 1 2016 - Footscray Bulldogs vs Essendon
It was actually a talking point amongst my crew... But then we seemed to have brought him on to assist with the rally in the fourth.... After all, there were bombers to shoot down by then!
Might be wrong, but swear he was on the pine for the entire third..Comment

I love how they isolate him when the game is on the line. He was fantastic when the game needed to be won. Will be very surprised if he doesn't end up on a list somewhere. May even get drafted onto a primary list."Loves a scrap....oh yeah & he's a pretty handy footballer as well"Comment

He's a lot younger than I thought. I've seen him at the ground a fair bit and from the way he's built and his marking ability I just assumed he was in his 20s. But seeing him on TV today he has a real baby face. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Meant to mention this. Here's a bloke who's retired and playing out his contract as a professional hired gun at a club he's been at for 12 months. He could have been excused for pulling the plug as soon as he announced he was retiring or going through his last few weeks in the VFL at half rat power before collecting whatever cash he was due and disappearing.
At 3/4 time of what would have been his last game after which he could have enjoyed mad Monday before going on holiday on Tuesday we are basically gone for all money. But halfway through the last quarter, even when a win was still looking unlikely. Jed Adcock was throwing himself into contests like it was an AFL Grand Final and played a huge part in getting us over the line.
I haven't always been the strongest supporter of the Jed Adcock idea but after today my admiration for the guy has risen a lot. I'd happily buy him a beer. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

We should also give kudos to Skipper Russell who has been outstanding at the Bulldogs after stints at Collingwood and Carlton. Russell rarely plays a poor game and sets a wonderful example to his younger teammates.Comment

Watched the replay the other night and I thought Dale looked good. He's one to really keep an eye on over the upcoming pre-season. I can see him forcing his way into our side.
Noticeably bigger (looks taller too) and seems to be finding his feet.W00F!Comment

Agree with that. I haven't seen to much of the VFL this year, but Bailey Dale really looked good against Collingwood as well. Takes a good mark and kicks it well.Life is to be Enjoyed not EnduredComment

Another pre-season will do him the world of good.. Expect him to be a big improver next year assuming he fill outs as he just match it physically with 'men'.Comment

Dale looked like a fair dinkum U/15 in our nab Cup game at Ballarat last year. I thought we drafted a child. The fact that he'd debuted at AFL level before the end of that year confirmed in my mind that he'll be a jet.
Whilst I'm at it, the 2014 Dogs Draft may yet prove to be the best pound for pound selection performance ever:
McLean pick 26, Webb 27, Hamilton 39, Dale 45 & Daniel 46 all range from good to great already.
Most of them will demand regular senior footy next year - which puts some context on Matty Boyd's situation.Comment
