    2016 VFL Grand Final Thread

    Bring it on.

Hopefully Hrovat is fit next week.

The timing has worked out nicely.

Playing on Friday with no injury concerns meant we didn't need to rest or pull players today and could go full throttle.

With the GF next Sunday after the prelim, we'll know where we sit from a personnel perspective and hopefully load the team up with every player available.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Cmon Dogs! The AFL listed players today did well but watching the game on TV today some of those VFL players we have are very talented.

I suspect we would rest 3, a 6 day break to an AFL GF isn't ideal
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Will depend if there's injuries in the prelim. Also I love your confidence

At this point in time, it's looking like Casey will be our opponents. I'm not too worried about our qualifying final result, we went into the game without a full back and pulled three key players as potential changes vs West Coast.

We are playing on our home ground, ironic eh?

Roberts, Minson, Dale, Webb, Hrovat, Adcock, Stevens, Honeychurch etc. all have good experience on the ground in AFL conditions and no doubt our AFL listed players would have some training experience on the ground too. That's a big advantage for us, and our game style is designed for maximum success at Etihad.

Added advantage is that the Casey players are trained by Melbourne to believe Etihad is an alien planet.

With having to play the AFL match at our opponent's home ground I guess it is pretty ironic that Casey finish on top, thump us in a qualifying final and as a reward get sent to play the Grand Final at the opposition home ground.

The other added advantage is that loser club has a close association with our esteemed opponents.

Lin Jong could make a shock return for VFL GF

                        From HUN:

WESTERN Bulldogs midfielder Lin Jong is staking a claim for a shock return this weekend.

The Bulldogs are in the envious position of having its VFL team playing the Grand Final on Sunday, meaning Jong could play in the decider and put his hand up for a Grand Final spot should the seniors beat GWS in the preliminary final on Saturday.

It is not yet known whether the Bulldogs would risk Jong against the Giants, given he was in tears on the bench at Subiaco during the elimination final after suffering the injury two weeks ago.

Coach Luke Beveridge is expected to give an update on his availability this morning.

Doesn't seem like a kid wanting out, from my vantage point anyway.
