Any news on signings for Footscray for next season?
Have seen a lot of signings for other clubs but nothing as yet for ours.

Not from what I can see, there has been a few reports about players moving to other clubs so I'm hopeful we might bring in some new players. I might reach out and ask a couple of people.

Doubtful I'd say if that scenario played out. Given we haven't brought another train on player we seem committed to Brew if he can stay fit.

I think he re-signed for Werribee already. So I guess that contract stands if he doesn't get AFL listed.

We seem to only file our changes as one big thing just before the due date.

That's one of the more annoying things about VFL side coverage and it's disappointing .

There is an article on Code sports showing the Done deal: the first 125 recruits for the 2025 VFL season
A couple of interesting things. Not one name has been linked to Footscray and certainly no players from other VFL sides or even from the Coates talent league.
Does that mean we are looking a lot deeper to bolster our list?
Dom Bedendo is listed was going to Port Melbourne, Charlie Clarke's name is not listed in the 125.

Without injuries, just with our depth of talent in talls we'll field a solid VFL side again this year. It is perplexing that we haven't announced even one "high value" recruit or anything of the like. Clarke not being listed doesn't particularly surprise me. Seems like the kind of guy where if he's not playing AFL, he would probably much rather just roll around his local team and kick goals for fun.

That Clarke observation you shared is a strange thing for Code Sports to miss. I wonder if he is he actually still training with them?
I've got a soft spot for Chook, seems like he was on the right path when he moved in with Adz.

He has had some personal issues which he has been working through. Hopefully he plays for Port where his father was a handy player.

Shame about Clarke. He had a bit of potential but a bit limited with his athleticism.
