Some commentary around AFL listed players...
Buss - usual VFL std performance. Didn't dominate, but held his own. Lots of Werribee attacks during the game, so was busy enough
Hynes - think he played better when fwd versus on the ball. Up against mature bodied defenders/mids. Had some nice touches but not a lot.
Baker - played like an angry man- not so great in the first part of the game but imposed himself as best he could in the third qtr. Came off at 3/4 time to be AFL emergency
Coffield - played a full half of footy then ran some laps. Has been in/out of rehab so good just to see him have a kick. Steady performance.
Buku - had a reasonable game - a bit like Buss, he was under a lot of pressure with the amount of ball coming into Werribee's fwd line
Poulter - started brightly with a couple of goals and then undid some hard work by players up the ground missing three very gettable shots. If he is going to play fwd, he needs to nail those goal opportunities. Worked hard all day, but as the second KF, was outsized.
L Kennedy - played midfield and HHF (resting). An incremental improvement over the last VFL game I seen him play. Think he needs to demand the ball a lot more - hopefully would have seen how Brew was doing it today.
Garcia - also played like an angry man and gave away too many free kicks in the process. Can't question his endeavour, but it all comes to nought too often. Had a good tussle with Brew who was amongst Werribee's best
L Smith - thought he applied himself well in the ruck albeit the Werribee rucks weren't imposing. Think he would be happy with his effort. Wouldn't mind seeing him improve his ball skills - a bit hit and miss at present
Gardner - as with the other backs, under a lot of pressure for most of the day. Took a turn in the ruck later in the game and I think this suited him a bit more.
NB - Croft, Scott didn't play
