Must say the ground is in great condition considering we had sheet rain and it's been constantly Raining.
Certain players are a class above , Young and Lipinski.
Ht Dogs 4.3. Burgers 1.6. Rained most of qtr, so difficult for both teams. Coburg lost ruckman early first qtr to concussion, so don’t read too much into our hit out stats. Boyd had a run as a ‘ruck rover’ during that qtr. Been coming to WO for 50 years - can’t remember ever seeing the conditions the players were subject to in the first 10 mins of that qtr.
There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist.
Young had another good qtr - bit like Morris - constantly punching the ball. Lipper and Webb seem to like the conditions as well as a couple of the VFL boys - Hayes in particular.

The Essendon match in '86 where we hadn't scored a goal to 3/4 time but then hit the front in the last quarter* was worse than this I reckon. It's eased a little by the looks of things, there is even a little bit of blue sky I can see and the cloud is starting to break up in the west.
It will keep raining and we might get one more arctic blast I reckon.
*!*!*!*!ing Neil Cordy.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
