But instead they want to spread the talent pool thinner again wiith new teams even though half the teams are barely afl level already

as long as we keep propping up the northern clubs & academy all good I guess

The difference in quality between the players out there just makes any semblance of decent flow & play near on impossible.

The VFL apprenticeship is dead, as soon as any young player shows any sort of hope of being a good AFL player you just need to get them out of this level asap and ride the waves in the seniors.
Yet apparently the development leagues are also underfunded. As we look at ad a 19th and presumably 20th team. Clearly wherever the money is going it's not being used properly for the good of the game

Yeah it’s crazy, I don’t doubt it would cost a LOT of money to do it properly, it’s not just the extended lists it’s the added staff, facilities etc it would be a big big bill but surely an investment worth making.

As you mentioned the priorities are probably wrong, the big wigs enjoy their gravy train but if you let the product slip it’ll have dire consequences in the long run. I guess by that time the blokes in charge will be long retired on the coast somewhere so someone else’s problem I guess

Further goal with good lead up play from Selwood and Dolan as parts of the chain.

Is anyone else’s stream completely cooked, or just my internet? Unwatchable at the moment.

Also could Scott potentially play back pocket? Has the traits I like in the small defender role, just a well rounded player, decent speed, overhead and solid by foot. Good in & under, decent composure. Could he make the late career transition to a solid back pocket type? Like a (very) budget Matty Boyd type, only real opening for him I can see in the senior side

Maybe if he was a couple of years younger I guess

Scott really imposed himself in and under that qtr, while Selwood just got ‘stuck in’ as well. Dolan with some nice touches. Baker running up and down the ground as is his wont at this level. Smith up against it in the ruck duels but responded better that qtr. Jones just blowing the cobwebs out so far. The taller options in the back half have meant a less role for Gardy so far. Croft deep fwd and not doing much.

                                Busslinger is going backwards, imo.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
