Our attack on the aerial ball has been terrible today. Port getting forward 50 marks in congestion all day

Beaten by a better balanced side that played the conditions and the ground better than we did.

Anyway, I'm off to the Etihad now

I only saw the first half. We looked to be doing it comfortably - obviously not.
Reuben William looked ok. Only 20 yrs old and used the ball well. His second half? Anyone see it?

Flashed in and out of the game as did all the big men. I thought Roughead and Campbell took some good marks, Tim English really battled wll around the ground.

Given the conditions he looked comfortable enough and he has a nice kicking action. I think if he had have had another week of footy behind him he could have been a good tandem with Boyd tonight.

Was that one of the tallest Footscray side ever assembled? English, Campbell, Roughead, Trengove, Schache, Roberts and Mullenger-McHugh are all over 196cm. Did I miss anyone else?

Anyone have any positive words about Porter's year so far? I was rather hopeful about him considering his story where he seemed to be overlooked and perhaps an astute pickup but 8 disposals is rather poor. Early I know but still.

We seem to have very high expectations on kids picked in the 60’s & 70’s (Porter, Greene, etc), but at best they are very much a speculative pick who have obvious weaknesses in their game which is why they have been overlooked until these late selections.
