Jaques, I thought he had huge moments when the game was really hot. A sure hand and competed with real vigour when he absolutely had to go.

Crofty looked every bit the player we expect him to be, he competes hard in every facet.

Hynes was getting some attention off the ball and I saw him let rip with a beautiful check hook that stood the bloke up. Super impressed in that moment that he wasn’t going to be bullied.

aside from the footy, how good was the big FOOTSCRAY chant when we goaled after the game was tied up.
Cheer squad should run with this at AFL games.

Trying to watch the game back on 7 plus. Borderline unwatchable. Crazy amount of ads showing up before the ball goes through the goals.

Im hyped to see what Croft, Dolan, Hynes, Jaques, Sellwood & Arty can add to the senior side next year.

Let’s hope they all have a huge off season and lock in their spots.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Arty needs some kind of surgery, he needs to get the rubber removed from his chest. The ball keeps bouncing off it when he goes for a mark. Gotta hold basic chest marks. Until he is able to mark properly and stop running over the ball and leave it behind, we are not going to see his potential.

Love his energy but his ball handling is horrific.

The guys that have mentioned CCP are so right ,he should be on a AFL list next year and i really hope its our's.
His hard at, tackles hard and is a neat kick , his not super fast but he moves the ball quickly , and he no doubt deserves a chance on a AFL list .
He was a worthy winner of the Norm Goss Medal , and i would hate seeing him running around with another side next year , we should at least rookie him next year and not let him slip through our fingers .

I’ve also turned the corner on Lachie Smith. He’s definitely not whatever height they say he is on the website, but he’s freaking strong for his age and will only get stronger. He’s no Timmy in terms of around the ground work but he moves ok and does not take a backwards step which I love in a ruck. He’s a must keep now.

Turns 20 next week. I like his second efforts. I wonder if he can play other roles like CHB?

His ruck craft is improving but I doubt he could play as a key defender. He's fairly slow across the ground and doesn't have much of a leap at all.
He's not a great kick at the moment either.

Sneakily one of the most improved players on our list across the past 12 months. He looked miles off senior footy at the start of the year, but I'd be happy with him playing a game or two if English has a niggle or needs a rest next year.

I was surprised how well he motored across the ground yesterday. He obviously wanted to try and spread on Crossley, but I was impressed with the way he got forward of the footy.

It's a massive win for the club, supporters and particularly the players who played.
It certainly doesn't measure up to and AFL flag but I can see a lot of benefits for the players in terms of experience.

Southport are unreal considering they had very few players with AFL experience.
Age shouldn't be a barrier but it's a shame Billy Crofts isn't a few years younger

Not only has his ruck craft improved but , watching him live a few times this year i think his knowledge of the game itself improved , knowing when to go forward knowing when to go back , it finally clicked for him after about the 6th or 7th game this year .
Smith will only get stronger , and he took some really strong marks through out the year , which was a real positive because he was guilty of getting his hands to the ball but not taking alot of marks .
All in all his progression this year was terrific and his a must keep on the list .
If he continues on this trajectory he will play senior football next year , and do well because his second efforts are good and he gets around the ground better then earlier in his career .
Personally i think he looked slow at times only because he wasnt reading the play as well as and as i'v said above that aspect of his game seemed to improve as the year went on .

After a slow start to this season he really started to get some runs on the board. He's still a youngster in his development.
