A pick swap has been agreed over the weekend and is set to be lodged tomorrow. The Western Bulldogs will trade pick 12 to Greater Western Sydney for picks 14 & 37.
Pick 37 is separately set to be used by the Dogs to get a deal done for Connor Budarick.

Budarick for free essentially. Obviously who ever we have on the draft board for that first pick will fall to our spot unless we plan to trade up with Gold Coast.

I'd imagine we would have a smaller range of targets. Sure we would rank players from 1 to 40 and tick them off as they land but we probably really have 3 targets in mind for pick 14 even with pick will sliding down.

We might even be in a position to push back up the order now.

            Now confirmed

8:35am - Dogs and Giants agree to pick swap

The Western Bulldogs have split their top pick in the upcoming draft.

Initially holding Pick 12, the Dogs have divided the pick into two, agreeing with the GWS Giants to attain Pick 14 and Pick 37 in the upcoming draft.

The move allows the Dogs to remain within the first round, while acquiring Pick 37 - likely to be used within a trade for Gold Coast's Connor Budarick.

Budarick requested to join the Bulldogs via trade early in the trade period.

The language has evolved. Sounded initially like a straight swap but it makes more sense it would be a piece of a trade than a 1-1 for an out of contract 25 year old who hasn't been playing his best position.

It’ll probably come in to about 60, if it gets used.

It’s got to be picks , Carlton have no one on the list we would be interested in.
GC aren’t going to give us a player of any value for JUH.
We could end up with a pretty good pick amount and enough of the late ones to get Will Darcy as I don’t think he will go 1st or 2nd round .

That seems a really good deal for Carlton.
