He wasn't a quick runner but I think he was a decent athlete.
I remember that as well. Another thing he didn't do was put his hands up until the ball was in the air. I spoke to him about it once, he said if you put your hands up it gives the player a target to pass over, if you keep your hands down they see your head as the highest point and aim to just clear that. Hopefully Rhylee is somewhere near as clever as Scott was.

Hopefully it will translate on the field, who knows, but good to see West scoring well in the agility test. The best mids always have that agile ability to move laterally that helps them retain possession that little longer.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Yep, his agility and jumping bode well for him being able to play a few roles at senior level, working well incongestion at ground level as well as being competent in the air is a good combination for a player of his size.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Yes, absolutely. It was something I was always aware of. I remember my old man telling me about how Scott West had an uncle who was under 6 feet and could dunk a basketball - so the leap ran in the family.

This has got me thinking a bit and from memory he did keep his hands down when looking to close the gap on his opponent. It probably had a positive impact on tackling as well lessening the chance of over the shoulder contact.

He lived for football and it looks like he worked out a few additional attributes that made him a better player in those 1% type contests.

Any clubs basing their drafting off combine are destined to fail.

Agreed, the combine is essentially to help with tie-breakers not to determine the order
