Re: 2021 Rolling Cost of Treloar & Hannan

Update, based on worst case of losing next week (hoping for the win obviously)

    Assumptions:

    - Suns extra draft pick, Pick 19, pushing the nominal picks out in the second round onwards by 1.
    - 3 Free Agent compo before end of Round 2, 4 before end of Round 3.
    - 4 Father/Sons & NGA bids matched before end of Round 2, 6 before end of Round 3.
    - 3 losses of Picks Between Round 2 & 3 for matching bids by other clubs.

Thus, the indicative cost for Treloar & Hannan both nominally and after possible shuffling are:

In the order before the draft & the actual pick after the draft has commenced:

Treloar. Pick 34. 7 x picks for FA compo and F/S & NGA = Pick 41 for Treloar (disregarding the 2020 swaps)
Hannan. Pick 52. 7 x net picks for FA compo and F/S & NGA = Pick 59 for Hannan

On Treloar, there was a 526 Draft Points Surplus last year. That’s equal to Pick 34.

If we lost this weekend, we owe Collingwood a Second Rounder. Which is Pick 34. There’s probably a couple of Free Agency Compo picks which pushes it to Pick 36.

So this trade is in now in surplus for us finishing top 4. A very rare thing Power has now achieved. Leaving $1.5M aside. What a crazy trade.

So technically, because they gave us points equalling pick 34 last year, we've equalled it out because our second round currently sits at pick 34? And when FA compo is taken into account that will push our second round pick above pick 34?

So effectively they have given us a lower draft pick and are also part paying Adam's salary? That's pretty sweet.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Correct. Remember when we traded Rawlings to North for a pick downgrade and we paid some salary? (They used the pick on Swallow)

This is essentially the same thing. Right now based on DPI, the trade is a dead heat so we’ve got Treloar for nothing. But with every Free Agency compo given before our Second Rounder, Collingwood then are ‘paying’ (in a sense) the club in DPI benefit plus paying Treloar $1.5M. When we beat Port this week, it gets even worse for Collingwood.

They never expected in a million years we’d finish Top 4. They never expected they’d finish 17th but given away Pick 2. They’re not very good at betting with future picks...

For every win, the club progresses in finals and at the same time Collingwood suffer some more pain. It’s wonderful. At worst now, Treloar is effectively a Free Agent on $600,000 across the trades.

              Hannan 3 goals
              Treloar 1 goal , 9 tackles

              Excellent pickup

Nothing for Treloar (in fact it’s slightly our way)
                Ballpark Pick 60 for Hannan

Combined that’s virtually nothing for them. While Martin was only Lachie Young who left.

So that’s Stef, Adz & Mitch for bear enough to nothing.

Re: 2021 Rolling Cost of Treloar & Hannan

Updated with the compo in to date. Just on the order before the draft now:

                  Treloar. Pick 36.
                  Hannan. Pick 57.

On Treloar, there was a 526 Draft Points Surplus to us last year. That’s equal to Pick 34.

We owe Collingwood a Second Rounder. Which is Pick 36 or 502 DP’s. Which is a two pick loss to Collingwood/Two Pick gain to us.

So this trade is now officially in surplus for us finishing top 2. On DPI we’ve got more than we gave up (at least +24 DP’s gained = Pick 71). We’ve effectively been given =Pick 71 to take Treloar on. A very rare thing Sam Power has now achieved. Leaving $1.5M aside paid for Treloar to come to us. What a crazy trade.
