I will be very surprised if Schache makes it as a back. Forward/ruck is his only chance which is slim too unfortunately.

Could be a long season. Not used to seeing Footscray sides being average.

Our AFL listed players are simply going through the motions with no one showing anything worthy of a call up. Have to say it but the VFL listed players are simply plodders and i couldn't even imagine them being reasonable local level players.

You'd be hoping we aren't looking at drafting any of this years VFL listed players. Nobody looks likely.
Think you're giving the Dogs listed players to much credit for youth given the presence of Martin, Crozier, Schache, West and Smith, but there isn't a lot of help coming from that level, that's for sure. Jones has potential, but still a bit of chicken with it's head cut off about his game. My high hopes for West from a few years ago have died. Looks to be going through the motions.

Cody Raak played forward but little opportunity. Need him back as he has had 2 disposals

Parker - much better that 1/4. Went on several run and carry bursts and drove the ball long. Blazed away a bit but at least showed a bit more of his capability that term.

Jones - showed some real dash. Ran into a road block or two but tried to create. I'd throw him in the middle to change things up.

McComb got us back in the game early that term.

Raak - not his day so far


a note to recruiting staff. Look what happens when you pick specialist players.

Paul Curtis - small forward for North kicks 3 goals and finishes nicely. We have no small forwards. We had chances but couldn't finish.

Charlie Comben - I like country born ruckmen. He is the best big man on the ground and playing mostly forward. I'd offer him a 3 year contract.

Agree. We look pretty horrible. I think Khamis looks ok and appears to be less fumbly and panicky than some of the others. Decent mark too.
