How did Toby play upon his return?

He looked like he hadn't missed a week let alone 360 days.

Wasn't prolific but when he had it looked balanced and had time.

20 hitouts to Callow 22, but also 17 disposals and 4 marks, 4 tackles. Good game

That is just raw stats without context.
If you are going to rely on hit out stats you need to know how many contests they each attended.
My feel is that he doesn't yet have the capacity to play for long enough. He was struggling to run late in the game.

Darcy had 16 contested posessions, 4 score involvements, 4 tackles and 7 hitouts to advantage.

Darcy growing with every game. McLean, Hunter, Garcia, Bedendo, Cleary, Roarke all played well. Pressure for spots growing so promising for our seniors if we can keep in the 8.

Bevo was on sidelines with headset entire game as assistant coach, encouraging boys as they were interchanged. Fair few of AFL and injured VFL players on balcony too (Schache, Hannan, Bruce, Parker etc). Really nice to see a supportive club culture.

Considering it was Sam's first game in the ruck for us...well I think so...he was terrific. Most of his junior footy what I believe was in key position positions too. The kid didn't even have a pre season. I really am looking forward to seeing Sammy next year after a solid pre season on track and in the gym.

The first time he did his knee he came into the seniors for his first game. He is ready to go now.
