Freijah has that arched back when he runs a little like JJ and Nigel kellett such a great size for a HBF. He wants ball in hand which I really like I reckon he is a step ahead of Cleary already who had another solid game.

Croft doesn't look like a natural forward which I think is a good thing, if Buss does stay then we need to move Keath or Gardy on so we can see him spend time in defence.

We hung on, I think Friejah was our full 4 qtr performer , took the game on and I like that.
      Shows composure as well.
Sanders with the socks down after qtr time worked his way into it, I would like to see him more damaging, his kicking is a lot of safe little chips.
Spicer is a strange one , seems he is the pressure forward as his pace is extremely good, seems to come from nowhere to lay tackles but I wish he could get it more, looks like he could do damage.
Arty Jones tried hard all day but isn’t taking his chances.
Our backline was great all day except for about 5 minutes in the last 1/4 but I don’t think it helped with us losing the centre bounces.
Busslinger looks big enough to take on AFL players now but I think Keath and Gardiner seem to be doing the hard stuff.
I have more confidence in our VFL backline than our AFL backline as a group.
Croft definitely has the talent just a body size thing.
All in all a win we needed to separate from the rest and we got it.
If I was to pick a player to come in to AFL after today it was Freijah.
      Bring back the biff

Kind of forgot about the VFL but fair to say Daniel's stats hide that he wasn't really effective with ball in hand going by the comments here?

Bus with a lot of praise. Did he impact many contests or was he more just a good rebounder?

Sanders with a number of tackles is encouraging. Knows how to get the ball was he as good without it?

We've got a bit of depth at Footscray and our success going forward will really rely on our ability to develop senior quality footballers especially with our inability to attract players either entering or being in their prime.
It's why we need to be active with drafting and developing.

He was good in the second quarter but the best I can say about Daniel is that he was just okay. Uninspiring instead of terrible if you will

Yep, sounds about where Daniel has been with his ball use lately.

Croft did everything bar kick straight as an underager. Huge tank for a kid too, I really think mobile CHB is his best LT position.

Croft is playing forward purely out of necessity, he's someone that we have earmarked as a defender.

Agree with woofers calling for Freijah to be elevated. Great body size, seems pretty defensively minded. Wins his fair share of one on ones too. Decent mark too. I hate boxing but shall we anoint him Smokin? Joel?

VFL Report | Dogs remain undefeated in thriller over Hawks

The Footscray Bulldogs emerged victorious over Box Hill in a top-of-the-table clash at Mission Whitten Oval on Sunday morning.

In the highly anticipated clash and thrilling contest, the ?Scray clinched the hard-fought 10.13 (73) to 9.6 (60) win.

Despite the stakes in terms of ladder positioning, the opening quarter saw a cautious approach from both teams, with slow-tempo footy characterising the early exchanges.

It wasn't until the 19th minute mark that Trent Bianco broke the deadlock with a superb goal, leaving the Hawks goalless at quarter-time.

Footscray wasted no time asserting their authority in the second quarter, igniting a flurry of goals.

Dominic Bedendo, Trent Bianco, Jordan Croft, and Daniel Orgill all contributed on the score-board, surging Footscray into a commanding lead by halftime 5.9 (39) to 1.2 (8) as the Box Hill Hawks struggled to keep pace.

In a riveting twist, the third term witnessed a dramatic shift as the Hawks launched a spirited comeback.

Capitalising on turnovers, the visitors managed three consecutive goals to narrow the deficit to a mere 13 points by three-quarter time, igniting anticipation for a thrilling final term.

Thankfully, in a heart-stopping moment of brilliance, Anthony Scott stepped up in overtime of the final quarter, delivering the decisive blow with the game-winning goal which sealed a hard-fought victory for the Footscray Bulldogs.

Bianco demonstrated his versatility with two pivotal goals, 23 disposals, three marks, and five tackles, showcasing his impact across various facets of the game.

Cooper Craig-Peters surged into action in the latter half, with a goal, 25 disposals, 10 hit outs and seven clearances.

Meanwhile, Caleb Daniel proved to be a stalwart presence on the field, accumulating 28 disposals, 15 hit outs, eight marks, and four tackles - providing invaluable support to the team.

With this hard-earned win, the Bulldogs preserve their unbeaten status and remain top of the Smithy?s VFL ladder, with a game in hand.

They will next face Richmond away on Sunday, determined to maintain their momentum and continue their winning streak.
