    Scratch that. One pick higher.

    Pick 15 = 1,112 (3,139) - deficit 341 = Pick 46

    Still a great outcome.

Sorry. It still sickens me that we don't have a 1st round pick. We hqve to settle for one at the expense of another player. The player we wanted destroyed us tonight while the player we got will be playing in the VFL again. Not saying Sanders is not going to make it just saying the price was high.

We can’t control the kids selected before ours. We got Sanders, Freijah, secured Croft in the first round and have an ok 3rd rounder this year. We will get one at least from Baz you’d think, so we will still be around. I’m happy enough to get these guys in for a premium of Pick 46 in points.

I can't see it that positively. Granted it is worth X amount of points now but still puts our odds of landing a now player at the longer end.

Hopefully Power reads the room and we don't trade away any future picks this year...I think they could be high.

We bulked up on talent last year though. Sanders at 6. Croft at 15. Freijah, Smith & AOD. All while probably knowing Baz would leave and we’d back into the first round anyway. With West & Cooney down the line too.

If you take it more subjectively then:

              Freijah & Pick 46 - for - Pick 23
Croft secured as a first round KPP at the 20% discount
              Pick 6 (Sanders) - for - Picks 13 & 15

All of those components are clear wins. Baz gets us back in so the view from 10,000 feet to me is a good one.

I think he needs to hold them not knowing what the changes for West & Cooney will be. I’m worried we will only tinker with the list and that you may be right too.

Thanks for the thread BT, it's just what I wanted to read after Friday night. You're a dead set legend.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

This trade looks good to me. I think we have essentially brought in 3 long term players.

I reckon Croft looks like a really talent from what I?ve seen at vfl level. A athletic key forward that plays with intensity and has a motor. They are hard to find.

Once he fills out and improves his footskills he will be special.

Thing with Croft, is he a dead set fwd? If he is we will have naughts, Jamarra, Croft, ( darcy , English)
Only 4 of them can play unless one goes to defence.
Did we take Croft coz he was a F/S or do we legitimately see him as a key fwd that warrants selection when we had taken Darcy and Jamarra in previous years, and we were in need of top 10 young upcoming mids
I will never see #16 the same!!

We had a long look at Croft and while there is an element of we need to take a father son selection about it we paid a fair price for what was always going to be long term investment.
Things will sort itself out regarding what possible he will play

Given we only have JUH on a two year contract, having Croft play a bit forward in this stage of his development isn't a bad thing.

I hope we played him forward in lieu of not having other viable options at VFL level and he gets time as a defender, and on a wing over the next twelve months.
                            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
